Need help FAST! Ruffle rail ok?

Hi. I would like to know as fast a as possible if I could make a ruffle rail with that pipe ( for skiing)

are the edges of the pipe to big or it will be fine, be honest please. Because it looks like it would only does edgecut.

you could, we have one at our indoor slope, just try to keep your front ski angled up so you dont sink an edge in the gaps

Sorry to threadjack but

I've been scoping out and urban feature at a baseball feild near my house with a rail simaliar to that and I was wondering if it I'd be fine hitting it once I get some snow.

Heres a picture of what I'm talking about

thans for all the reply!  I knew these were ''rideable'' but this one seem to have  bigger gaps and ""knobs'' are more of a square shape..

definetely try it, but when we tried something similiar last season it didn't slide well cause the plastic was too thing and buckled but, I think its worth a shot.

It is called a corrugated pipe. Yeah if you try some tricks on it you will definitely catch every once in a while, but if its not that high off the ground when you eat shit it wont hurt that bad. It is worth hitting, you can get some good tricks on it. Just slide it like a normal rail. Don't lean back to keep from catching or you will slide out hard just like any other rail. Just feel that shit on your skis. Become one with the corrugated and it will treat you well.

Maybe you guys can help me with this.....I've never understood the point of corrugated pipe rails. Are they there for beginners? If so, aren't they harder to hit than normal rails because your skis would catch.

This. Except one time my back foot caught and the brake didn't release and my ski went to the bottom of a run. Your front foot edge never really catches though

it is one of my friends first year skiing and he was learning slides and stuff yesterday on that corrugated in the video and he said they were easier than his box at his house but i dont know it might be different for you

you maybe could do it, be careful though, i gave my baseball fields plastic stuff a whack to see how firm it was and it cracked. i think it gets kinda brittle when it's cold out, and its not very thick plastic

Stay away from those things man.

Nah I'm just saying that BC I have been looking for a good spot to try it. They are kinda soft so IDK you might punch threw them to the top of the fence.

We had some metal ones last year, fairly long ones, they are ok but I find you need to take a ton of speed as they slow you down a fair bit, maybe its not so bad on a down but the more speed the less the vibration knocks you about. 50/50s are daft hard though as its easy to slide off.

Good fun though.

I rarely catch on them but when I do it's when I go for a spin out of them. It sucks, lots of times it will rip off my ski and I'll get the air knocked out of me, but yeah front edge never really catches, it the back one that'll get ya.
