i think sagging your already super baggy pants just ends up looking dumb, not to mention it's super movement restricting. just like having your jacket past your knees, there comes a point when you have to sacrifice a little bit of steeze for functionality.

I've heard it began because inmates were given jeans which weren't, surprise surprise, properly fitted and with no belts on hand sagging began.

that is a lie, it did originate in jails but only because for obvious reasons they didn't give inmates belts, or care about supplying properly fitted clothing

Actually it is because prisoners were not issued belts. The pants-sagging became popular because as prisoners were released from jail, teenagers latched on to the look in a act of rebellion.
