Shin bang is caused by more than one thing, and quite often than not it is not Booster strap related.
Shin bang happens for the following reasons:
You don't have footbeds
Boots are too big
Boots are too wide for you
Boot is too soft for you
Boot is too stiff for you
You don't have the proper fit between your shin and tongue (which a Booster will sometimes help with)
Cuff is too low on your shin
I list footbeds first since this is the best way to minimize foot/ankle/leg movement in the boot, which is the main cause of shin bang.
