Where to Mount Line Blend

Ok so i am getting the Blend and It says to mount at -7 back but that just seems far back. I will be using these bad boys to shred the whole mountain as a park. and also riding the park too. if anyone else has these bad boys let me know

I have mine +3 from recommended and I think they ski very well there.

ide say around 3.5 to 4.5 but if ure gong to do ant park dont go 7

Ive got last years mounted at reccomended, and dont feel like i am missing out on anything or anything riding switch but then again i dont really take them into the park i love them too much and have beater park skis for that.Also neither of my park beaters arent mounted centre and so ive learnt to ride switch on reccomended so dont really need to reduce the forward performance to gain little in switch.

I went + 7 (technically -0.8 from core center), I ski park 90% of the time and they're sick.......However, if your not skiing all park, I'd definitely go somewhere in the +4.5 to +5.5 range.

it depends what kinda skier u are. if u are a park skier and go switch a lot definitley center mount them but if u live at a mountain with a lot of powder days and thats what u ride put them in the back.

I have the orange and black pair i think '09, wow long time ago. But I started them at the recommended mount, and then later mounted them to true center. The only difference I noticed is that powder took a little bit more work if it wasn't pristine conditions. And with the early rise on the newer models this shouldn't much of a problem anymore. But as far as riding switch i thought they we're a lot better at true center, and in the park. And it also had no effect on charging through absolute crud with them (still my absolutely favorite thing to do with them<3).

mine are -1 from center, probably feels the same as center, but since they aren't symetrical, I didn't want to do center. if you have any interest in riding these in the park, I wouldn't go more than -3 from center.

after spending some more time riding on mine i would like to revise what ive said. I feel the recommended is too far back for anything but riding in pow alot for me. i find i get pretty bad chatter on firm snow and i kinda wish i was a little more forward to reduce chatter (esp as my stance is a bit backseat) and improve switch. so i would say go for 3 or 4cm forward from recommended if you want a ski that can really go anywhere this way you are directly between true centre and core. but it depends on alot of things like technique, stance It also depends how aggressively you ski/how much power you transfer to the ski. If you want to go fast mount them core (though you will get punished if you get thrown into the back seat). If you are a bit casual then go for inbetween core and true and if you think you will spend more time in park/on groomers go (near) centre. I do think its hard to go wrong with these skis though, they are just so good.

center. with symmetrical flex, the ski is really meant to be mounted center, but the -7 line is there for people who don't ski park or anything. I have very similar skis to the blend mounted center, and would regret if I had mounted them anywhere else.

yes these skis have a symmetric flex but they aren't symmetric sidecut so you are going to lose general performance by mounting centre. he is wanting it to be usable all over the mountain so you want it to handle itself well if it gets technical or sketchy.riding in the park back from centre isnt going to be the end of the world for riding switch. so for best of everything between the -7 (like you say for people not skiing park on it) and centre seems like the best option for this guy and then its just his decision as to how much park he is going to ride on them to decide how far forward or back to go. ultimately i would say its down to him to weigh up what terrain he rides (/plans to ride) and chose on the basis of that.

I'm assuming english is your second language, in which case I won't rag on you for how hard that was to read.

My reason for saying to mount center is that you will notice having more tip than tail in the park, and you will likely notice not having a perfect balance. I know that they don't have a symmetrical sidecut, but mounting ahead of it does not ruin a ski, and you hardly lose performance. I can rip as hard on center-mounted skis as I can on something 4 back from center. Hell, if you're going to say that you shouldn't mount center because of performance loss, than you should always mount at recommended. It's really not about riding switch, it's about balance.

I understand it's up to him, but he asked for advice, and my advice, after having skied a center-mounted, similar ski to the blend in the park and all over the mountain this year, I would not mount them anywhere else.

haha english is most definitely first but my brain is frazzled because of exams atm. having re-read it i could have worded it alot better.

i dont dispute your advice from your perspective of having rode centre on this type of ski all year.

having not rode centred on these skis i cant tell him if its worth it. all i can say is that having rode on mine for the last 2 years at -7 i feel they have been good but would have been better mounted forward from there.

with the weight centre -7 back from centre i think that the balance would feel odd being that far back.

hence my compromise of between centre and -7.

I do do park but and all mountain but i live in vermont so we dont get insane powder days. I want to center mine because i love the free feel of being centered. I am not a charging down the mountain guy. I like messing around on side jumps and ollie off things. do you think it would be smart to center them on the 12/13 blends?
