I got some rossignol fks 140s for my line step ups recently and when I bought them, I thought they were the 90mm brake version. I don't remember if I double checked or if it was labeled wrong or whatever, so yes, I'm an idiot and I f**ked up but it's too late too go back. Anyway now with them mounted I realize they are the 115mm version. I figured, "no big deal, I'll just take them to my shop and get some different brakes." Well it turns out that on the FKS/Pivot, the brake is integrated into the heel piece in a way so that you can't swap it out. Sooooooooo, I went back to the shop where I bought them (which is the retail shop for the MTN where I work) and talked to the manager and he said that he doesn't have any of the 90mm versions in stock. So he told me he would call Rossignol and see if he can get one and maybe I can just swap out the heel pieces, use the same holes and everything will be gravy. Assuming that doesn't work out, I was wondering what my options were. I could say "screw it" and just ride with brakes too wide, but if I carve decently hard they touch the ground (not to mention looking like a ritard), so I don't like that option much. I could try to straighten them out and then bend them closer to the ski, but I think that will probably just end with them breaking. Or I could just cut them off and use ski leashes, but that seems like a pain.
