Here are pictures of the rip for reference:
I emailed Jiberish the following on November 24th, 2011, 12 days after I got the Lohi in the mail:
I purchased a Grey LOHI from the AbstractMall website during the first winter drop this November, and got it in the mail on the 12th of November. I was immediately impressed by it, it felt great, felt quite quality, it was extremely comfortable. I was a huge fan of my Lohi, in fact its still probably my favourite sweater. However, even though I have tons of praise for this piece, I do in fact have a complaint about it. I've worn it a total of 4-5 times, maybe, I was terrified to stain it with anything so it didn't leave my closet very much. During this time I've worn it around the house, under a coat, not any particularly wearing situations. After using it for what I would deem a "break-in" period of time for a sweater, it now has a hole in the hood along the seam where the right panel and center panel connect. To be honest this is pretty disappointing, not only is one of my favorite sweaters now ripped immediately before winter, but also my opinion of "The result is a company that produces clothing where the quality of the garment is matched by the integrity of the brand." taken from the about page of your website that I had believed to be quite true, is called into question. I've watched the video's you've released about your trips to the manufactures in China and was honestly impressed. You seemed to have your production on lock, and from everything I've been told, I assumed to receive a sweater that I'd be able to wear for a while to come. Sadly this isn't the case, but such is life. To be honest I was looking into getting either a chopping wood or murica from drop 2, but after having the stitching on my LOHI fall apart so easily, I'm hesitant to test the waters any further. I've got a pair of grey and brown chino's, and both have great construction which is why I was so confused with the rip my sweater has. Maybe I just got unlucky, but the quality which I expected from this garment has certainly not been met.
Sincerely,
Alex Little
Thanks,
-Tony
TL/DR:got lohi, 12 days later its stitching is ripped not through harsh use, email jiberish and they say they'll reimburse me for the repair with store credit.
NOW, my question is, what do you think?
Would you be impressed with the customer service shown by Jiberish, or do you think they fall short?
My biggest qualm about this whole thing is that they offered to give me the refund in store credit. As I said in the email, I'm pretty hesitant to buy more Jiberish as the stitching quality is terrible (from my personal experience with the hoodies), which makes giving me a refund through the store a way of never having to actually DO ANYTHING.
I spend the money getting it fixed, I likely don't buy any more Jiberish online, they win I lose.
What would NS do in my situation? Go away and deal with it (not opposed to the idea) or actually try to see if they'll do something for me that doesn't involve me wasting money after I already spent $110 getting the damn hoodie to Ontario
