Replying to Our community and skiing
Most of us already know that we have a pretty tight knit community here on newschoolers but I feel as though more people need to appreciate just how awesome our community and our sport really is. We are all connected regardless of people's personalities, looks, ideals, beliefs, etc. simply because of skiing. And skiing is awesome. When I go skiing I'm constantly on the lookout for people even remotely resembling someone who could be on newschoolers for a pretty simple reason. And that reason is you all rock. Our community knows how to have fun and enjoy life because, for me at least, that is what skiing is all about. There are no troubles or stress when you're skiing. Just you, your friends, and the mountain. You get to explore your creativity and experience a sensation of freedom like never before every time you are there. On top of that, when you step outside your boundaries and complete a difficult line or land a new trick you are overwhelmed with a feeling of accomplishment. For a lot of people that is what drives them and keeps them coming back for more. We are constantly pushing ourselves and one another to be the best skiers we can be while having the most fun we possibly can. I really don't know of another sport where so many people can feel so accomplished. I also don't know of another sport where skill level is so irrelevant(In most cases). Any of us average joes can ski up to a pro and talk to them or ski with them. That is pretty fucking cool if you ask me. I was fortunate enough to attend west coast sessions last year and had the most fun I've had in a long time just because of that mixed atmosphere. I convinced my roommate to get into skiing this year and just watching him get stoked gets me stoked as well. He recently landed his first box slide without falling and now all he wants to do is ski everyday and get better. Its so cool that the feeling from landing a simple box slide is comparable to how a pro feels when he lands something like a switch dub mute. But anyways enough rambling. My main point is that even though our community is constantly expanding and evolving we can still manage to remain as tight knit as ever. Newschoolers is more than just a website, its my life and my passion and I'll never leave no matter what. Thanks for being so awesome guys
