Home mountain opening tomorrow -- too bad i can't ride

So tomorrow my home mountain is opening, however, only two trails will be open with limited cover. I was super pumped to hear this until I was sent an email from the snowsports school saying that employees are not permitted to ride tomorrow. I work for $8/hr while they charge a ridiculous amount of money for a 1.25 hour private lesson. Not to mention this season I had to buy a $141 new jacket for my uniform. The compensation is that I get a free, unlimited pass. Too bad I can't even use it. Does this make any sense to you? Has anyone else had experiences like this?

Lift tickets are going to be $15. I may buy one just so I can ski.

E-mail from his employer saying no employee skiing that day.  Total bullshit, my friend is a lifty at my local hill and they do the same thing, free season pass but certain days you can't use it and you work 5 days a week for minimum wage.

probably to save room (parking spaces, lines in lodges, lift lines) for the guests.

Really stupid IMO, parking spaces? lines in lodges? lift lines? how is that going to be effected by a hand full of employees not working? I doubt it. Suck your mountain is fucking the employees over, you guys are what make the place tick, you shouldn't be treated like shit.

That's how it is for my mountain right now, I can't ride there until I worked a certain amount of hours

yeah, it seems a bit extreme, but it's the employees choice to work there. they can leave if they want.

everybody in the ski industry makes personal sacrifices.
