Hey guys I am 5.8-5.9 i weigth 180 ( not that fat i don't really know why i weigh this XD ) 14 Years old ( 15 in a week ) I ski 60-65% rail and 35-40% jump i im looking so far for the Thall but i know they are really soft and good for butter and stuff ( pretty much wath im looking for) but i don't know if they gonna be Really to much soft and flex for me cause of my 180 lbs ? and are they gonna handle great jump ?
do you have any other ski that will be good for me ? , ritgh now i ride coreupt colby west and i pretty much like it but i want alittle more flex)

If you go for the 176 the extra length will make them feel a little stiffer, you could probably even go 181

i have last years that i got at the end of the season. they are 171... and i just checked: this years thall has 171.

The T-halls are the best skis I´ve ever skied.
Nothing bad about them yet. So light, and the ski fantastic.
Centermount them, and get the 171...

Just picked up a pair of 2012 Thall's with some STH driver bindings as my first pair of park skis. I'm a strong advance skier, but pretty much a noob when it comes to this park stuff.

I'm dedicating this season entirely to learning park so it should be a good learning experience. Really stoke as this will be the first time I'm learning something new on skis again.

P.S. I don't have a preference as to where I want to mount my bindings on my Thall's. I've read all the threads and responses on NS and the answer is mixed between center and -2.5. Usually people can give a split as to how much they ride rails vs jumps. Being a noob, I can't say at all as I haven't tried park yet. I've hit the occasional jump on the side but never a rail yet. I've only skied all mountain skis in the past and they are nothing close to center.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i mounted my ar7s centered and really, i feel you wont lose anything. youll still be able to rip and although your skiing against the sidecut just a little, you wont notice it at all imo. its great centered man, go for it. but be sure to measure it yourself and use tape to mark it to prevent shop confusion

Are the AR7 as good for park as the thall or are the Thalls better cause they're softer?

Honestly man, If I was your size, I would go with the Ar7, still a really good ski, and just a little bit stiffer flex, they are pretty much the same ski, except for the flex. You will still LOVE rails, and they will help support you on the jumps! Good luck either way, THalls are great skis no matter what you choose!

imo they are the same ski, but the thalls are just a tad softer. i like my ar7 but i also like a stiffer ski but its amazing in the park and insanely light and durable

Im 5'10 195 pounds and ride the 171 t-halls they handle fine on jumps. no worries. awsome on rails. Best ski i have ever had.

Im 6'3 170 and i ride the 2012 thall in a 176 i have no problems throwing down off jumps or rails i love them.

personally id go with 181s but i like a longer skis, so i think the 176 will be great for you. but you might want to look at the AR7 with your weight. im a litle under 180 6' and i ride the AR7s. theyre break in

Just to tell you i can get the 181cm ar7 for cheap or the thall in a 181cm for cheap. I am having a tough time deciding between the two. Again, i am 6'2 215 lbs looking for a good park ski. I am currently riding the 2010 k2 extreme in a 169cm length mounted center with marker griffons. I havent skiied in the park but i really want to when i get the thall or the ar7. I am also very good outside the park. (i havent really laid one foot in the park) So im just having a tough time deciding between these two skis. ++++k for any suggestions on what to get.

i would choose the ar7.

you are pretty big, and the people make the ar7 seem way stiffer than it is, it is the perfect park ski IMO.

i have a 165 and am a really aggressive skier, i can butter the shit out of the ar7 and it is still stable at speed.

mount at -2.5 perfect all mountain ski.

thats where i have mine, no regrets.

sacrifices a little carving ability but if you are used to a centered ski it shouldnt be a problem.

yeah pretty much, if i have the skis at home before they are mounted i usually measure it myself and mark the ski to make sure there are no mistakes, sometimes the lines arent exact on the top sheet.
