people seem to think because Alex Smith is thier QB that they are terrible, but they have the best defense in the league and if they can beat the Steelers people will realize they are a serious contender for the Super Bowl out of the NFC
Cincinnati Bengals. Rookie qb, has had a killer year so far, as well as our main WR who is also in in his rookie year. Not to mention almost every single game they have lost has been within only 1 TD, except for when the Steelers rolled us.
3 years from now I bet we are a serious contender in the playoffs.
He was a first round draft pick when Rodgers was suppose to be numero uno.
He hasn't had a couch to allow him to play the way he is good. Harbaugh has the coaching style to match Smith. Gore is one of the best all purpose backs in the league ( you should see the big mother fucker after the catch)
Im just glad the 49ers aren't the most underrated team.
they are easily top ten teams that were undone by small mistakes and still stayed in most games that they lost. other serious contenders like the steelers, 49ers, saints and ravens were more than once trounced by good or not so good teams.
but in reality, all teams are either under or overrated. everyting is a lot closer together than everybody thinks. last year the packers were the 6th seed and shouldve lost against the eagles in the wildcard round. the rams run over the saints, the panthers devour the texans, the chargers shock the ravens and i dont think i can find another metaphor right now but you get my point. the W-L column says little about how good a team is or how bad. even the colts beat a team with playoff aspirations.
there are so so many variables in professional football that its crazy difficult to match team against team..thats why you see these so called nfl experts and gurus are always at .500 when they pick winning teams every sunday
true. players, coaching, scheme, opponents players, coaching and scheme, weather/surface, streaks, turning points within a game, injuries, referee overall style and single decisions, individual performances/mistakes AND LUCK.
basically, you have to keep records and all that stuff, but what i am saying is that if ALL teams would play in the playoffs, chances are legit imo that a +6th seed would win the super bowl.
