Trouble with boots and ankle

So I've recently got fitted up with a pair of full tilt seth morrison pro, this years model, at the recommendation of a boot technician. And they've been pretty good except whenever I try to ride them nice and snug I get an awful bruise on either the outside or inside of my ankle. The bruising maybe gets better if I loosen the boots but then I get toe bang... It's a bit of a shitty trade off. So I'm gonna take them back to the place and see what they can do, but I won't be back at the shop for another month (it's near my school and I'm on winter break).
Anyone on here have any recommendations on how to fix this issue? thanks guys

Do you have footbeds in your boots? I would say about 80% of ankle pain is footbed related...

Seconding footbeds. They'll fix the alignment of your ankle and stop it from rubbing against the shell. I used to get pretty bad blisters and pain on the inside of my right ankle - as soon as I started using footbeds, it disappeared. One of the best boot investments you'll ever make.

Any recommendation for how to go about getting footbeds for full-tilts?

Go back to your boot fitter and ask for footbeds. They should have a few different varieties. The trim-to-fit ones will be fine - you don't need anything special. Should run you around $20-$30.

Most likely, he will need something better than a $20 footbed... A lot of those end up putting the foot/ankle in an awkward position. But, it always depends and sometimes they work well. Always get properly fitted to find out what one is best for your specific needs.

Thanks for all the advice so far guys, but aren't full tilts suppose to be "unfriendly" with footbeds cause they have one built in already?

Nope, they have nothing built in already. The brand ALINE works well in FTs, actually under the liner and mold the liner over the low profile bed. When I fit Wallisch for his boots, that's what we did. Same for Will Wesson and Andy.

i had a similar pain to this...and the shop put in a foam wedge under the liner near my heel. My heel bone wasnt in the pocket therefore bruising my ankle. The wedge was like half a centimeter at its tallest and had adhesive to stick the the boot. Worked great! No more pain!

actually, you want to avoid doing this. the foot and ankle need structure and support and their foundation needs to be built on a solid foundation. Adding gel or silicone under the foot/ankle is like building a house on a marshmallow. It might feel more comfortable at first, but it will allow the ankle to fall and move still. It's best to get the right footbed.
