bridger just got 8 inches, and the sky got about the same, more snow on the way, Big Sky just posted a video saying "Power Alert" for tomorrow, and when I left bridger today it was snowing hard.
After Christmas Break its gonna puke enough to make up for the lame preseason.
my home mountain has 91 inches of snow this season and has about 2900 acres open so i cant complain. my condolences for all you guys who r getting rain. that sucks
Well thats what I meant by the second part of my post, the two I can attest to personally is Idaho and MT
I head from a friend that some Cali/NV Resorts are also hurting for snow. and I heard in the elevator today that some resorts in CO aren't having a very good snow year either. East coast, well they got their opening dates really early for alot of resorts. Bridger here has less base then many well known east coast resorts while last year it was open round thanksgiving with a huge base. Last year at Big Sky they opened with January Like conditions. And my Local hill Bogus Basin in Boise Open thanksgiving day,and they opened like the whole mountain. This year they'll be lucky to be open by Christmas
its a bad snow year but on the front of opening, Montana and Idaho had been hit the hardest IMO, but now I think the snow will finally come.
A local rain meter near my house has received 1/4" of rain this month. One quarter of an inch. It has been drier than July. Seatac airport has received a whopping 0.05" of rain. That's basically a few days of fog. Usually it rains in the mountains, but currently? it aint doing shit.
Yup yup, Tahoe is super thirsty... Its been decently cold but have literally had 0'' of snow this lovely December. I still have faith though, shit happens man
I feel ya man, from upstate NY and barely a dusting for the first time. I live in a really bad lake effect snow band though, so we'll probably get dumped on the rest of winter because lake Ontario is going to be extremely warm compared to most winters.
IN CO we have been having a weak snow year too. Fortunatley it has been cold so snow blowing has been non stop. Breck already has a full sized pipe 3 Huge jumps 3 little jumps and some rails. Keyston is on point this year as well. Like 45 rails 3 medium jumps 3 huge jumps. Keystone also has a triple line of huge rails. The first is an urban over a step down that is like belly button height when standing next to it on the lip. a down flat with a step down off the flat and a fucking huge cannon. all of them are so incredibly fun. There is also a really fun down flat down that is sort of a C and a super fun s rail and a bunch of urbans and then 2 smaller jumps and a super fun flat down that is made for disasters.
unfortunately this. im not sure what part of mn you live in, but after today's 49 degree high (fuck) its supposed to be below freezing as a high for the next 9 days.
Making snow today here in NH. To bad Ill lose it all when its forecast to be 50 on thursday, the 22 OF DECEMBER. What the fuck is happening with this weather.
