Honestly I think the problem with ns are people like you who even care that a video was posted in the forums. We get it, there is a video section, thanks for the heads up. But your bitching in every single thread with a video in it is changing nothing, except making the thread an argument about posting videos in the forums instead of talking about the video. You see look, instead of posting about the video I just watched, I just now spent a minute of my life flaming you on something that really doesn't matter whatsoever.

My point is to create an argument so people stop fucking doing it, shit needs to stop. A lot of kids dont even look in the video section because all "pros" do is post in the forums while kids who make sick edits and never post them in the forums get under a 1000 views on an edit that wouldve gotten 5 times that 2-3 years ago.

It's never going to stop though, so arguing about it completely worthless. If you want change, then the only thing that needs to happen is the mods need to make a sticky saying any edit posted in the ski-gabber will automatically be deleted and if the author continues to post videos he/she will be receive a temp ban. Clearly the mods don't feel this needs to happen, as if they did they would have done something about by now.

Also, honestly there are benefits of posting a video in the forms as opposed to the video section. Like you are actually able to quote people and actually give efficient feedback. As people are more likely to click on "My Threads" then look for your video in a list of more videos to see if anyone said anything about it.

The main problem with forum based video is people can bump their own videos and if everyone posted their videos in a forum it would be the biggest cluster fuck. I agree the commenting should be upgraded and THEY ARE going to start cutting down videos in ski gabber, just not on the top of the list....

the most we can hope for is some people recongize the problem and they don't post there videos in the forums *cough*orangenames*cough*

This isn't the first time someone tried to "prove me wrong" by posting a link to that video. Its in the MEDIA AND ARTS FORUM where I ASK FOR SUGGESTIONS AND CRITIQUES. It is no where near to posting in in SG. Back up.

Why are you so paranoid about the number of views. If your videos are not getting enough views maybe you should think of a better way to market them. Do something bigger then just edits.

I refuse for a couple reasons.

1. it would be extremely hypocritical to complain then post my own videos. If someone else wants to post them then fine but i still think people should be watching/discussion videos in the video section

2. NS has been working really hard to revamp the video section and what has been changed is the tip of the iceberg. I fully support the NS video section and will always only post my video there and M&A for critiques.

In fairness, while it does annoy me to see you post 'video section' on every edit thread, your point is valid. I'm not particularly good so this isnt a complaint, just an example, but my season edits have got less and less views.
2009 - 15,000 views
2010 - 5.500 views
2011 - 880 views

everything evan has said here is truthful. just because some one is a pro doesnt mean they allowed over someone else to post videos in the main forums...just post it in the video section for everyone to see. until mods start deleting all threads about videos in SG and such then we will continue to have a problem. All threads in these forums must be deleted. It may  be nice to even send a message kindly to the thread creator explaining that videos should be posted in the video section and that is it. They clutter forums and take away from content that actually needs discussion. Post your videos in the video section..its quite easy

Yeah in theory, the solution seems simple with just deleting the threads and what not. However, in reality it's not that easy once you consider stepping on people's toes, endorsement issues, and what not.

NS is indeed working on a practical solution though.

I definitely remember you posting some of your videos in ski gabber which definitely didn't help the "movement" back towards the video section. That said, I agree with what you're saying and I too wish the video section got half as much traffic as it did years ago.

i will say that the comment section is a bit primitive, and can be difficult when trying to discuss the edit. unfortunately we're not able to quote others in the comment section, but something like that is probably in the works. i think the best bet would be to make a discussion thread and link to the video in the video section, so it can prosper properly.

pat I understand that we are stepping on peoples toes but this is a private forum where people chose to register regardless if they are pro or not. but I feel like there shouldn't be a double standard between pros with endorsements or the average member. if ns wants to make money best off videos it would be in their best interest to force videos, especially from pros, into the video section. they money and revenue generated from ads off these edits is a no brainer for ns. its clear that orange named videos get more views especially in the video secton. a double standard should not be acceptable

.It's funny that this is part of your argument while you post in thread with a video in it, bumping it to the top of the forum. I get your point but lets be honest, the video section is shitty. The shitty videos posted in the SG dont get a lot of bumps anyway, the "market" sorts it self out. Its funny how economics works in every day life..
