Schweitzer Ski Trip

I went to Schweitzer last year and had a great time. I cant legally drink yet but they had tons of shit at the liquor store at the base for decent prices. pretty much all of the mountain is good skiing but i defiantly recommend the back side. Glades are dope and there is just a lot of good runs.

Schweitzer is so sick! one of the best places for tree skiing. Back bowls are SO sick on pow days. Mellow cliff drops, steep pitches (Pucci's Chute is my fav) and a good fall line.

Schweitzer is dope, I'll be there all break with my buddies, including ^Pete.

There's definitely a lot of fun stuff inbounds. Chair 6 is in general the gnarliest chair, and that's where you'll find the biggest cliffs and (in my opinion) most fun tree skiing. Chair 1 also has some pretty fun runs, but it gets skied out much quicker and the trees are a little tight for my liking in some places. The T-bar off of 6 has incredibly fun tree skiing on a good pow day, but it's much more mellow.

I don't know much about skiing backcountry around there, but I know that past the T-bar there is supposed to be some pretty awesome stuff. It's obvious where it is; it's just the next peak over. On a clear day you can easily see lots of tracks going down it, seems to be a pretty popular one to hike. But if you can get up there first I'd imagine it would be fucking fun.


I'm only 19 so I can't say much about the drinking scene, but Sandpoint is a small, pretty mellow town. There are a lot of awesome people, but you won't find the type of nightlife that is in more well known ski towns.

i ski at schweitzer. outback bowl is pretty nice. Also waynes woods has some nice cliff, the whole backside is awesome on a powder day. if your staying up at schweitzer village theres like three restaurants, but if you dont like those just go to sandoint.

there is a pillow line down the whole skiers left side of pucis. i waited 5 years to hit it when it was skiable. that day never came.


just curiously, why are you coming down to idaho from canada to ski?


my advice is to get to the backside, and just lap the doublechair. nearly everything worth skiing at schweitzer, you can see from that chair.

I'll be going in the next couple weeks as well. Can anyone there give me a synopsis on the snowpack and how the season has been? If theres no new snow is there a descent park? thanks
