Depends on what you really want to do.
I had an amazing time in college. Had opportunities I wouldn't have had outside of uni. Had lots of resources to figure out what I truly loved. Partied, traveled, grew up. I'd rather have the debt and the experience.
Aside from that, every career that I would want in the future lists a degree+ experience as a requirement. But that's just in the field of work I'm into (PR/Marketing for ski industry).
That being said, my primary source of income is from web development and content writing. This is not what my degree is in, but I still have a significant upper hand when I apply for positions. I was able to get a digital media arts minor and just took classes on accessibility and graphic design. I may be equal to the other programmers out there, but being able to talk about 508 compliance and design theory help sell me to clients. These are things that sure you could learn on your own, but saying I took classes makes the clients way more confident in my abilities.
