I have it, and have dealt with it pretty successfully. Look up Trueback.
www.trueback.com I garage engineered a few of these for myself and they work great, but looking back on it now, I should have just bought their version for $80.
Luckily my curvature was never quite bad enough for surgery and unless I get to the point that I can't move I will not undergo surgery. If the doctors suggest that they fuse your vertebrae together, you owe it to yourself to get a second opinion.
Obviously, I am not a Dr. and don't know anything about the extent of your condition.
I have a lateral curvature, one of my vertebrae is not shaped right, I am missing a rib, and the curve in my back shifted my heart over to the right side of my chest. This may sound pretty severe, but it doesn't really bother me. My back tended to go out more than someone without Scoliosis, but the trueback has helped me fix that pretty quickly. I've had some pretty minor issues, but my back hasn't gone out bad in years.
Good luck and I hope you figure out how to get relief.
