I'm gonna keep this comparatively short (it would be a few pages typed if i told the full story) and to the point

For the past six months I have been fighting a downward battle with anorexia and two days ago i hit my, what I hope, was the lowest point in my life. I visited the doctor to my weekly weigh in(to monitor my progress with the anorexia) and results were fatal. I slumped to 104 pounds and my heart rate was sitting at 37 bpm on the EKG. At 5 foot 10 inches and being a fully developed man my BMI dipped below 15.

Yesterday i was admitted for inpatient care at a children's hospital where i will spend my Christmas morning getting myself medically stable. I originally had plans to fly to Ireland to attend my Grand-Parents 50th anniversary, but my doctor is worried that my heart won't be able to handle it

I'm mingling with death and I'm really fucking scared to say the least, thank you for listening

All this sympathy ain't doing anyone any good. Just encouraging weakness and reliance on others. You all can think your being nice. Every time you say 'it's ok, it's not your fault, here is a program where we will hold your hand" you are making anarexia acceptable.

The eat or starve treetment is pretty damn self correcting. Just saying

youre an ignorant piece of shit dude. youre pretty misinformed, and i hope one day you dont find yourself with a mental health issue. youre confusing support with coddling, which is a pretty big misinterpretation. im sure you think depression and anxiety as well as other problems are doctored up ideas, which is disturbing to say the least. you sound like the one with a chemical imbalance, not anyone else in here. ill pay the $5 copay so you stop acting like a dense asshole.

I have had taco bell plenty of times before, it was the only fast food I would eat as a child. I just recently went to chipotle for the first time. HOLY SHIT ON A BRICK, its just great.

I love all these new "Fast Food" places like panera, chipotle, and au bon pain. Where the food is of GOOD quality and it isn't a mystery. It tastes so much better and it's better for you

Speak for yourself. I have had numerous NSer reach out to me and give me their stories and advice. It has been extremely helpful to me.

If you end up dealing with lung cancer, an eating disorder, or something else that i can empathize with, I will give you my support. I'm not gonna try and change your mind, but I know where you're coming from.


Oh yeah you are just as much of an attention whore as I am, so don't act like you are any different than me in that respect.

In that both are illnesses but you are only capable of grasping one of them. The other, you clearly don't understand. It's like asking an alcoholic why they can't just put down the glass, or asking a bipolar person why they can't calm down. It's not a matter of willpower. Some peoples' brains work differently. You clearly can't understand that, and have no desire to, so you'll persist in your ignorance, which you're entitled to do. But by posting about it repeatedly on a website you're just embarassing yourself.

Like I said, the fact that you're even looking at it from this perspective shows you have no grasp on mental illness. True of a lot of people who have no frame of reference. The irony is, just as you can't fathom why someone would be unable to just EAT something, anorexics can't understand people who do eat normally, people with anxiety disorders can't understand how you can be so calm about some problem that's paralyzing them, and alcoholics can't understand how you can say you've had enough and leave your drink unfinished.

Many Alcoholics know what they are doing is fucked up, and work hard to stop.

If some one won't eat when they are starving and their is food on the table then they are stupid.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT (literally)

Lately i have had problems with my GI tract because it was shutting down due to starvation and now i'm starting to deal with lots of waste.

I never knew that constipation could be so fucking painful (the most painful thing i have physically felt to date). So the doc is giving me miralax 3 times a day and i just had my first fleet enema 20 minutes ago.

SHIT SHIT SHIT. The fucking weirdest thing i have EVER felt.

I understand people wanting to back up the OP, but the posters in here that don't understand just let them be. Don't add fuel to their fire.

To OP, I have never been around someone close to me needing some extra help to get through anorexia. Seems like you are doing pretty well though, so keep up the great work.

I received some great advice today as I am struggling through some junk right now as well! I was told to make a list of everything I want to accomplish in the next week. It doesn't matter how simple the task but give yourself tons of tasks to complete. As you complete them, cross them off your list. It will feel great writing the line through your statement until they are all gone. I've used things as simple as wake up and shower. So when I go back into my room, I cross it off and I feel accomplished.

Keep it up mate and remember you're never alone.

You clearly do not have experience with anorexia, nor do you know much about it. Your negativity can go elsewhere. The OP is looking for a release and the NS community's support. If you cannot post words of encouragement or show support, then GET OUT.

Thanks for all the support.

My treatment team gave me some bad news today. After eating 2500 calories a day, having very limited activity, and having EVERYTHING monitored, I have managed to lose weight. My team think I am ready mentally to start transitioning, but they need to monitor my body. My metabolism is starting to come return to normal, so it's hard to figure out how much i should be consuming to gain weight at a steady safe rate.

I'm gonna be eating more food than I've ever eaten before, sit around do nothing, and some how be building muscle. I can live with that
