I don't think you see it the right way. Some of them in cure for anorexia are checked by nurse to make sure they dont exercise, otherwise they wake up in middle of the night to exercise like fucking olympic athletes (they'll do push-ups and set-ups in their beds for hours to burn the food they ate). Others have to be checked becose they will make themself puke.
Yes, it's ''all in your head'', brain can be fucked up. But think about it, have you ever felt super hungry at 11h30 but you had something to do so you couldn't eat... 12h30 still hungry but still busy, you eat a little something real quick... 14h30 you finish your work and you don't feel ''that'' hungry anymore, you feel like you could wait untill 19h00 for the next 'usual' meal time. Happened to all of us! or sometimes, it's late and your too tired to eat! Your girlfriend just dumped you and you don't feel like eating anything at all for a day ... some quick exemples on how your brain can affect your appetite and I don't realy know but I don't think peoples are born with anorexia. I think if for different reasons (apparence, sport/dance performance, etc) they use or used their brain to tell their body their are not hungry and they don't want to eat, the brain/body may be fucked-up and he doesn't realy know what to do when you want to eat egan.
Yes, it's all in your head, but brain is so complex. Psycologic disease like anorexia, depression, etc are as important as broken bones, tore tendon or ligament except we can't see it with X-rays.
