skis 4 the sugar momma

so my gf wants to buy a pair of skis for this season. she has a condo in park city that she has so far only used IN THE FUCKING SUMMER, so when i told her i would be crashing there multiple times this winter whether she liked it or not, she said she needed some skis so she could come up every once in awhile between drinks. she's not hardcore or anything (can go down blues and stuff well enough she says), and she's about 5'3'' and 120 lbs. she says she's just gonna give me her credit card and let me go nuts, but even though i won't be spending my own money, i can't bear to buy something at full retail price.

but anyway, i was looking at something in the 150-ish range, and i was thinking twin tips just because they'll have graphics that she'll like. she'd probably give away her louis vuitton handbag for free before she ever hit a jump, so twins aren't necessary. she'll be doing groomers, and maybe if i'm lucky she'll follow me through the park a couple times.

so yeah, i was thinking 145-155cm, maybe 1080's or mavericks or something else soft, and some bindings that go up to 8 or 10 DIN. also boot suggestions would be nice, since i don't know shit about women's boots, i was thinking maybe salomon verses(?) or would those be too pussy?

and while i got her credit card, anyone know where i can get some 187 MSP's?

and after a brief browse on ebay, here are all the non-twin women's specific skis i could find:

k2 t-nines
atomic c-8's or e-5's
salomon verse 7
dynastar exclusive 8
volant vertex 71

i'm really not that concerned about the actual model though, i basically just need suggestions on length.

yeah, if she isn't very good, nothing over 160. I would say 155 range is pretty good.

here is a good deal, good size. then you can use the money you saved to get some MSPs :)

look man, if she's not gonna jump and can only go down blues but nothing better, don't waste her money and time on some twins. ok yeah they have sick graphs, and I love'em, but they're gonna be too soft for her on a groomer or on hardpack. and honestly, what are the chances of her actually riding or landing switch ? if you buy her a pair of skis she doesn't like, 1st she won't ski them (total waste of money) and second you're not getting laid cauz of that. My suggestion is to get her a specific girl ski (either rossi saphir series, wichever one you want depending on the price) or somes excusives from Dynastar. They offer some pretty good skis at a low price point. they're not too stiff so girls do enjoy riding them and at least on those she can progress. I mean yeah twins are easy to ski, but she'll stall her progression and do blues are her life. K2 has some pretty sick skis also this year for women, with some graphics I'm sure she'll like.

strode I am looking for the same thing, just proly waiting for rossi scratch pro teens for under 150-190 dollars. I think they go up to 168?

actually, having a tip on the tail holds you in the turn longer and makes it easier to hold an edge and initiate the turn. thus making progression easier and theoretically quicker. it's physics.

liz, we'll be in the store today (yay!) so maybe i'll take you up on that offer

jck from the fort, i found a killer deal on some 148 pro teens, but i didn't know if that was too short or not and now i think the auction is over

fakie jibber, i don't think her goal is to progress and get badass, (she's 25 and has kinda bad knees) she just doesn't own a pair of skis right now and wants some so she isn't just sitting in the condo all day while i'm skiing. besides, my only two pairs of skis are twins and they work just fine everywhere. granted they're both pretty stiff models, but i would never consider getting non-twins for myself unless i was racing or doing moguls, so i figure they will work fine for her, plus my knowledge of twins is much larger than my knowledge of regular skis

i have some 158 half season used rossi proteens with half season used Salomon 810Ti bindings that have been bidded up to 225 so far.. if anyone can bid higher than they're yours

Honestly, I've tested almost every 05 ski out there, and if she doesn't need 'cool' skis, get her the K2 One Love, or one step up from that is the K2 Burnin Love. (They were called the T9 last year.) They are absolutely the best all mountain women specific ski on the market. Stay away from the Salomon womens ski.
