Coreupt or fatypus

I'm looking for new skis and i like the corrupt yards and the fatypus g butters. I've never heard anything about how good either of these companies are and just wanted some input. just like weight, flex, durability, and stuff like that

honestly neither make a very good product. coreupt is shit quality and fatypus will feel like you have 2x4's (such a damp/not fun/overall crappy ski)

so my advice would be to look elsewhere....

and i have suspects now, i love them but i was looking for a softer ski. i still might just go with the '12 suspects unless coreupt or fatypus makes a good ski

the g-butters are really durable and really playful. They are a bit $ since they are a small ski company but they are quite worth it. yards are the same durable and playful. They are cheaper since they are only available online. The yards will be the stiffer of the two but not too much. Personally i would purchase the g-butters since they are a really great company and they do not manufacture in china like coreupt. Stimulate the economy and your joy in the park bro

coreupt makes shiity quality skis. that is a fact.

and the fatypus skis are very damp (in my opinion) and not very well made either.

but hey its not like i work in a shop or anything and would know anything about a skis durability and quality.....

You are wrong and obviously basing you opinion about fatypus on nothing...they are made in the same factory as Icelantic skis and both a extremely high quality and bombproof. Ive actually ridden the skis and you have no idea what your talking about.

ive ridden fatypus skis aswell. and they are no fun and felt like i had wooden 2x4's under my foot. that is my opinion (not something i can be wrong about). and ive seen at least 3 or 4 pairs of fatypus's that have needed extensive repairs (delams, edges falling out, and diecut issues in the base) beyond your typical wear and tear in just one season. therefore i'm advising the kid not to purchase based on my experience with the ski. i have quite a good idea what im talking about sir. so please hop off your high horse and let me voice my opinion on the brand.

Can't speak for the G-Butters but I ride the D-Senders and I-Rocks, which are both beyond kickass.
They charge like crazy, are stable and dependable when necessary and playful to boot. Very bomber bases as well, and incredibly light. I recommend the brand.

Well if you suck at skiing then yea they might feel like a piece of wood lol. Oh yea you've seen at least 3 or 4 that were in serious need of repair? That's complete bullshit but it's the Internet so I guess you can lie about stuff like that...

First of all damp is not bad, people pay upwards of a grand for kastle skis which apparently are as damp as can be. If you ever leave the park you would notice that flappy bouncy skis that don't absorb vibration aren't very good in choppy or hard pack snow, that's why people buy damp skis.

Secondly, dampness isn't an opinion and you can definitely be wrong about it.

Lastly, everyone else disagrees anyways, so hop off your high horse and give it a rest.

I love my 2010/2011 candide yards. They're really light and playful. Plus, you can get them for $199 on skis.com which doesn't hurt

ahh classic internets argument. your right i must suck at skiing, and clearly lack character; you got it!!!

yes im aware damp is desired by some, but for a sight like newschoolers most kids want something buttery and soft. though i might clarify ive never ridden the g butters but ive tried the d sender and one other i believe. not a fun ski, in my opinion.

and finally im not making anything up. the shop i work at and a few others i know of are no longer carying fatypus skis because they have not sold very well (and because they are not very well made, but no one seems to believe me on that).

ha, you sound like the bitch ass kids in Michigan when they try to rip a pair of stiff boards.

The skis were obviously to stiff for you. Keep working on it, the more aggressive you get the less you will get that 2x4 feeling on a pair of skis, I remember it from when I was 12 and probably skied like you do today. Practice makes perfect and you'll get there and we won't have to hear you bitch about 2x4s on the boards anymore. I would suggest a really soft ski like an old K2 fujative or press for you based on your ability right now.

Both companies make legit skis no doubt, Coreupt has been producing some of the best skis around since they moved to the China factory, just as good as Armada from my experience, stiff beefy skis with vertical sidewalls.

yep you got it! i'm a 12 yr old park rat...

except that it seems you're the one from michigan. believe me i can "handle" any ski i just prefer a softer-jibbier ski. its pretentious fucks like you who ruin the skiing community. just because i have a preference for a softer ski doesnt mean i cant ski. i grew up skiing telluride all my life. there are some stiffer skis that don't feel like 2x4's that i have enjoyed (suspects, though they have issues of their own, icelantic shaman's, and my roommates black diamond megawatts). so for you to say i'm a 12 yr old is just so ignorant.

but hey im willing to forgive. i just got to telluride and will be shredin here and silverton for the next month. but enjoy your 350ft vertical ski hill suckaa..

A lot of shit talking in this thread with very little backup. Can't go wrong but the Coreupt Permins/BTDs IMO are as well built and fun as they come for a deep day ski.

Get the Butters man....they are my favorite park ski and I will most certainly be getting another pair myself after my current pair gets retired.  I honestly have had no problem with durability, and I have been riding these pretty hard for about a season now, & I ski mostly rails, so these are in heavy contact with metal atleast 5 times a week.  No  delams, no base problems, just average degradation on my edges from rail skiing.  I personally love the flex pattern on these, they are stiff enough to hold up really well on jumps & high speeds, but they definitely have a butter zone and can be pretty playful and snappy when you want them to be.  Super crisp ollies too....and feather light.  I have had a lot of experience with this ski, and in my opinion, you can't go wrong.

wait your trying to tell him he shouldnt buy the the g-butters because the d-sender was damp and not very playful? you realize that the d-sender is pretty much a big mountain/comp ski right? thats no where close to what a park ski is going to feel like. Ive heard good things about fatypus, theyre made in the never summer factory in denver and alot of the skis and boards coming out of there have pretty good reputations for being durable. id say support them.

just throwing it in here that i have coreupt TJ schillers and from what i've seen/experienced with this ski, i'd buy coreupt in a heartbeat!
so cheap for so much quality !

i got mine for 99$, brand new :)

haven't skied fatypus but i've skied yards for a couple of days last season and the felt pretty good..
they were a bit too stiff for me but i had rossi scratch wich are like wet noodles.. swing weight was more than fine and they definately felt solid on landings..

also, just for reference, coreupt had a bad reputation concerning durability back when they were rebranding dynastars up until 2009 (i think)
after that they shifted their production line to china so they can produce skis for near to nothing and strange enough the quality of the skis has improved dramatically....

I love my TJ Pros. Solid ski, really fun flex. I don't hit rails with them though, so YMMV. I haven't noticed any obvious issues with Coreupt's construction though.

You've ridden these? I'm picking up a pair for this season. I had orignally settled on the Moment PB&J's since they were $125 cheaper, but they sold out in my size. I'm pretty stoked on these now though, I think I'll like them better than the moments.

I have only seen them in shop.  they are such a perfect dimension ski.  they are light, and they have a fairly soft flex.  and plus AD rides them when he is cruisin the mountain so you cant go wrong there

It was in no way stated like an opinion. I having ridden skis from both companies defended them. Also almost everyone in the thread disagreed with him as well.
