STH Driver problem Please help

hey people,

I was wondering if anyone encountered this problem.

I just bought new 2012 sth 12 drivers and the afd pad (the little white thing under the front of your foot) fell off of both skis. First one fell of while i was having the bindings mounted (which the shop "fixed") then they both came out on the very first day of use.

Has anyone had this happen with salomon bindings?

The website also tells you to refer to a specific page to make your warranty claim, but the thing is that the page does no exist...at all.


Anyone know where I can get spare parts?

I don't want to risk a bad non-release because the piece isn't there.

the shop you bought them at should have the piece your looking for.
if they dont im sure they can order them in and not make you pay.

in my shop we back our products

yeah just take them back to the shop you got them. They should just swap the toe pieces out for you. They can then warrenty your old toe pieces.

Lol well there is your first mistake.

Take them to a shop and ask if they would warrenty them for you. You will have to pay as you did not buy them there. It will take around 6-8 weeks to get them back. Ask the shop if they would possibly swap your bindings, then they could warrenty the bindings. Its not much of a risk for the shop as the binding will be warrentied but would leave the shop down a pair for 6-8weeks. If you got teh bindings there they would definatly do it, but seeing how you got them online, they could say no.

This is exactly why its better to buy in a shop, rather then online.

well seeing as im sort of screwed, does anybody have any suggestions on how i can fix this problem myself?

anyone know where to get spare parts or a more ghetto solution?

i didn't think it would be a big deal but apparently it really affects release.

It totally affects release. That flat white part is there to allow the boot to slide out of the toe piece in a fall. Without it you wont get consistant, realiable releases.

Your best bet is take them to a shop and ask them very nicly what they will do for you. Beer is always usefull at times like theses. It is definatly a warrenty and will be sorted out by salomon, so you have no problems there. You just may be without bindings for a while, unless you can convince a shop to help you out.

Buy in a shop next time.

Like tomPietrowski said, take them to a shop.  See if they are willing to exchange a pair of new ones in exchange for warrantying the pair you give them.  You might have to give them beer or maybe even give them a few bucks to persuade them, but try it.  It's not like buying new toe pieces will be free anyway.
