it does bother me.  then again. i rarely hear it up in Oregon.    i say "sick" alot  and Boris Yeltzen when things get really crazy.   i have been saying alot but only in the right moment  "BUST" when some one eats shit or fucks up i yell BUST.    and deff i pull the SIKE!!  card alot

Shit, I know I'm like eight months behind on this, but where at in the central valley? The valley is fairly out of touch with the rest of the state. In Fresno, hella is making a comeback and it drives me insane. People also say Cali in the valley, but the most common way to tell if someone is not from CA is if they say Cali. When you live in the state, you can also tell where people are from by their vocabulary.

Also, that map posted above... it's pretty incorrect. Don't show that to anyone living on the Monterey Bay.

maybe swagger was a word before the acronym was used, but SWAG was used by people who got free toss outs at events (like ski contests, promos, etc) long before #SWAG was around.

it has two meanings, why would people say that they have "swag" if it meant that the had promotional low quality goods.

think of it this way

Cheap hookers have swag (stuff everyone gets for little or no price)

but at the same time

Modern rappers claim they have swag (superior swagger)

My school has ridiculous slang, and when you talk to anyone thats not from my school you sound mentally retarded. for example: wet, hoot, plug, jugg, buhh, xavion, hot boy, blud, cookies, peace it, lit star, dab star and much more. its so stupid

I'm not saying swag doesn't mean stuff we all get. I'm saying that in the context of this thread and slang words people don't like the other meaning applies. The reason why kids say swag all the time is because artists like odd future and ASAP rocky use the word to describe their style. If someone is talking about having swag, they aren't talking about having stuff we all get.
