So I'm off to the mountain next week and there is a shit load of snow incoming so i think I'm going to go pick up some new ski's (i currently only have a pair of 161 2009 line invaders and they don't handle too well in deep snow)
I was originally looking at the 169 K2 domains, i think i need a little longer and the rocker will make it ski a bit shorter, also its a centre mounted symmetrical ski like the invaders, so it seems like a natural progression and its fatter underfoot and rockered so it should do well in the deeper snow....
so yeah i did my research and i was like great i will get those, then i went to a ski convention place and talked to someone who seemed like they knew what they were talking about, and they said A) not many people are rocking rockers anymore even though its relatively just taken off. and B) the domain isn't that good a ski...
anyone got a good understanding of this and can help me out with a decision? I'm a relatively good skier but not the most experienced in the pow i only go for a week or two each year (aside from snow domes here which tbh suck ass)
also i might be able to pick up a new pair of 2009/10 volkl Gotamas for £299 instead... my worry with these is i rarely get to see a powder day so this might be a wrong choice for a week of snow then next time they will be useless in shitty snow where i thought the domains would fair well in both.
help advice? only have a few days till i go... is there a better ski for me? or will one of these be great?
Many thanks!
