more like 5 minute walk, and 40 bucks for 23 rides to a mountain that is 50+ miles away round trip is extremely cheap.
Bus where im from is 15 bucks roundtrip for a hill 16 miles outside of the city on a mothertrucking school bus with methhead drivers.
Here its literally like 2 bucks a ride if you plan ahead on a transferable card. The bus is a Charter Bus, with pretty chill drivers, leaves at 6, 7 and 8 every day with a 7:30 bus on Friday Saturday Sunday. And the return buses that are at 3:15, 4:15 and 5:15 daily. Plus the return trip is "free" so its free to take back just in case you get left at Big sky or something.
More relation to the thread, you have Big Sky, which is an extremely legit Mountain for the price of a Pass. 600 bucks for what is it, oh yea 3,832 Acres of Skiable acres just in Big Sky, Not to mention the 4000 Ft of vert gain and a tram that goes up to 11,000 ft. Big Sky has Bowls, Tree Skiing, Chutes, Powder, Groomers, Decent Park, Jump Line, and pretty much anything you ever wanted to ski on a mountain all in one place. It is an amazing mountain with great skiing, might be a bit rocky depending on the snow and where you go but its a crazy good mountain.
Bridger is a fun little mountain too, not sure much about the buses or how really things run over there since I have a big sky pass, but if you're 18 or younger you can pick up a junior pass for 300 dollars. Bridger is like 20 minutes outside of Bozeman, and usually get puked on when it comes to snow and when you have a beacon it makes it even more fun. When you add on all the terrain around the Bozeman Area, you have a hot spot for earning your turns.
