ok you people need to realize that kerry's platform is basically his time in vietnam, and how that makes him such a great president, and yes i can attest to the fact that most vietnam vets dislike him, because of the fact that kerry was an officer who was deployed to vietnam for the sole purpose of gaining combat time to boost his record so he could move higher up in the chain of command, this was done a shitload in vietnam and was one of the problems of vietnam, the commanders didnt stay in vietnam long at all, kerry only went to vietnam for 4 months to buff up his record and most vietnam vets were there for at least a year, this kinda pisses them off because they actually had to stay for a year, where kerry just made a quick 4 month stop in vietnam, then went right back to washington where he could further his military career, and because kerry bases so much of his campaign on his short stint in vietnam that doesnt even compare to what most normal soldiers had to go through a lot of veterans are annoyed

They blame it on a nation that has many freedoms and is very prosperous. The extremist groups create and train fanatics to attack our nation. Thus, ani-American terrorism is born. They attack, and we respond. We try to dismantle the extremists. Many of that native people see that an attack directly against all of the people in that nation. It goes even deeper than this. It’s a complicated problem to fix.

Either should've erased them all, or not touch anything? I honestly don’t like that approach. I try to look for a long term solution that benefits the greater good of everyone.

Just a small Economic Cost/Benifit calculation:
If we decide that both parties will do equally good on the domestic politics.

The known Benifit of chosing bush = approx: '0'. (To some though, it might seem a benifit to throw more money into national defence.)
The known benifit of chosing Kerry = '0'. (Although it is known that this possibly will raise the confidence from europe and increase demand for American products)

The known cost of chosing bush = Worse relations with europe. And most likely a fall in the US Dollar resulting in less money to the Americans.

The known cost of chosing Kerry = aprrox '0'., since he has assured the US that he wont put national security any lower than Bush.

Benifit(Bush) = Benifit(Kerry)
Cost(Bush) > Cost(Kerry)

Therefore Kerry is the wisest choice.

This should answer the question about why arguments are more AGAINST Bush than FOR Kerry. Even in lack of better candidates, Bush still comes out as the worst possible choice.

They fight for Allah because they don’t know any better. Unlike the free would (US, Europe, etc.) common people of the Middle East don’t have the luxury of accessing information. Very few people have regular access to TV’s and computers, if at all. Everyone has one reason or another for attacking America. Most of them don’t know any better. As I said before the leaders have a great influence over the people. And the leaders generally DO have access to information, and are usually more educated than the common people.

Its not about pleasing Europe. Its about not disturbing them and their markets. Like it's about not disturbing the middle east and disturbing any other country in the world. Bush has not been able to act on anything without causing uproar in many parts of the world. Previous presidents have strangely enough been quite good at this (Clinton I.E.)

I admit that my Cost/benifit calculation is not at all complete. But it was to show, that if you want to keep it simple, the facts are there. If people say they feel both candidates are just as good, the best thing would be to look at what candidate is the least bad, in this case that would be Kerry. i didnt read all of them, but i just want to point out that if the rest of the world doesnt like a country; and that country does not do anything to improve its international standing it would crumble. Esspecially if the citizens didnt care what anyone else thought about them. The USA cant survive without international support, unless it takes over other countires. Just imagine what would happen if Canada were to cut off the water, electrical, wood products going to the USA. Parts of the USA would be in blackout, with not nearly enough water. I understand that US European relations are important, but you seem to think that on the day after the election all tie will be cut. Now I am going to look out for me and my own, being that I have family in the military and I don't want to see some liberal ass rag coming in and putting troops on food stamps like Clinton did. I want to be safe working in my office building which has already been scouted by questionable Pakistanis with video cameras and expired visas. I want to know that my brother is going to be safe in DC, because an airplane was already flown into his office in the pentagon once. Son, these things are close to home for us, they are decisions that we have to live with everyday. My family could really use the money from tax cuts and we also want perfection from terrorism. No, I am not afraid of terrorism right now because the fact that I know the man at the helm means business, and he will protect us at all costs regardless of how many people bitch and scream about it. I know Bush, and he knows what he is doing, and he is not going to fuck around or take any shit from some European nation or any other nation for that matter. Yes, we need the trade, but son, don't tell me this bullshit that the EU would be good and happy even if they lost us as a partner in trade. And that would not even happen in the first place, it is very naive to believe that a continent would cut off ties due to the president who isn't endangering them. Saying you are a superpower in all ways is like the worlds fattest man showing off. Or the High School Bully thinking that people really respect him because no one dares to stand up to him. Honestly, One thing is to be proud of who you are and where you live, another is to be arrogant and cynical. I never implied that Europe would cut of trade with the US because of some election; what Im saying is, that the US holds more than just a economic responsibility towards themselves and the world, they also hold a MORAL RESPONSIBILITY. A term that might be vague to you, even when it should be the keystone of any nation that calls itself 'The land of the free'.

Getting back to your point about Bush taking care of your interests, I suggest you take a look at Fahrenheit 9/11 (If you haven't already), even if you've heard it's liberal crap. It might just give a whole new perspective.

Wow, you have gotten me all wrong, all I said that European relations was not my prime concern when electing a president in such a turbulent time. Personally, I am a fan of surrealism when it comes to art, I enjoy Dali a whole lot, I am also a fan of Van Gogh, Bosch, and Mattiste. I am in favor of more 'liberal' ideals when it comes to the environment and drugs, but the Kyoto protocol was totally unrealistic and would have done huge amounts of damage to our economy while giving a free ride to developing nations. And as for a superpower, I believe that you used those words before I did, and since you had already agreed that the US was indeed a superpower then I saw no argument. As for Fahrenheit 9/11 , I was there on opening night, yes I was drunk, but I was there regardless. Sorry, but I am not the ignorant Neanderthal redneck that you may think that I am. Hmmmmm. Quinny, I think way too much of this debate has been based on the War in Iraq and the War on Terrorism. Let's forget what Bush is doing to 'help' people in other nations and take a look at what he's done on the home front. First, let's start with poverty. For instance, we'll look at the Census Bureau's report, the one that was released early in hopes that the shock would wear off by the time the election rolled around.
1. Poverty levels among children are at their highest in ten years. An increase this past year from 12.1% to 12.5%. (Mind you, this has been the trend during Bush's Presidency.)
2. The poorest 20% of the population make less money than the year before.
3. Minorities are making less money.
4. Less people have health care insurance.

And hell, we'll look at the economy in general.

1. The dollar sucks on the world market.
2. Unemployment is high.
3. Gas prices suck. What's up with that?!?!?!?! Figured those prices would have dropped now that we essentially run Iraq.

I'm not saying that Kerry would without a doubt do better. But as a Democrat, I like to look at Clinton's campaign. He improved social welfare during his presidency. He was certainly a terrible husband, but I think personal and business lives should always be seperate.

Now, if you can come up with reasons that I should not hold Bush partially to blame for how terrribly the economy is doing. I'd like to hear them. But I don't want to hear things from Bush's campaign or any Kerry bashing. Just want to see if you care about the poor and hungry, the sick and dying.

Alright I couldn't read the 2nd page because I don't have time.

Bush didn't go awol. You can't go awol in the National Gaurd. Bush couldn't have even entered service in Vietnam. Gues what his dad's job was...Head of the CIA. Now, what would happen if ol W got in the hands of those communists dumbasses...They could use him. Bush wouldn't have been able to fight anyways, as for his service in the national gaurd, he simply did not have assignment to do.

Lighters won't do shit. If you've ever ben on an airplane, you'll notice the little sprinklers above your head. Nothing from a match will cause a fire bigger than what those things can handle(remember they don't allow gas or falmmable stuff)
