Trying to geo-arbitrage (I hate using this term because Ferriss connotation) here. Looking for a major transport hub (to western europe and south/central america) that has a relatively low cost of living / doing business.
I'm leaning towards huston right now but thought I would turn to the NS collective for ideas that I may not have previously thought of.
This is not just limited to the USA.

Sometimes you need to think outside the box. Or, in this case, INSIDE the box. Have you considered getting a sturdy shipping box, cutting some air holes, and simply shipping yourself wherever you need to go? Tried and true method (see Henry's Freedom Box, the story of the slave who mailed himself to freedom), and definitely a money saver.

As for Europe from America, there's pretty much only two airports 80% of all the flights go through: Schiphol (Amsterdam, come visit me!) and Heathrow (London).
Check out Skyscanner.com I've found it to be a really good engine.

Europe's big air hubs are: Heathrow, Paris CDG, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Munich. To a lesser extent Madrid, Zurich, and Copenhagen.
None of them are known for a low cost of living.
