just don't get scared. If you visualize it enough and thoroughly then just do it. only thing about it going exactly as you visualize to the point where you convince yourself that its the only possibility. Then commit.

Get the trick down on a trampoline, that way you know what it should feel like, and then try it on a powder day so if you land on your back or side or something it's not very bad

Just try it once. Then you will know how it is supposed to feel and it 9/10 times it turns out better than you expected it to go.

study the trick as best as you can.  before trying a new trick, you have to have already experienced it. Focus and visualize.

The key is committing completely to what you're about to do. If you drop in with doubts and second thoughts, 9 times out of 10 something will go wrong. But drop with confidence and you're far more likely to stomp it.

what i like to do is visualize for a while and once im like aight i got it, feeling confident, count backwards from 5 or 10 knowing that when i hit 1 im dropping in no matter what

When I "just committed" yesterday on a gymnastics tramp I ended up landing off the tramp on my side onto an aluminum ladder.. The tramp is 5 ft off the ground.. The I committed again and landed. :D

the main thing I have noticed is DO NOT over-think it. I have seen way too many people sit at the top of an in run pondering tricks and ending up psyching themselves out. Never sit there and think for more than 5 minutes or so. Once you visualize it, just go do it.

Visualize of course. Think about it a lot before you go to bed, and you'll dream about it. When you're going to do it, don't think about it. Stomp the landing.

remember skiing isnt like skateboarding, as long as your realistic (i just landed my first 360 lets try some double cork 12s) chances are youll land it within the first couple trys, just commit and fuckit and huckit.

Find a feature you're really comfortable on, get some friends throwing new stuff, get stoked then commit.

Even if you crash, it's getting that first couple of tries out of the way that's the hardest. When you're almost there you'll be getting stoked just on the realisation that you've just about got it, and that'll make you suck it up and try again.

think about stopming the trick while your going up the chair as soon as u get off clear your mind turn ur music up whatever. get to the top of the run in the nerves are gonna kick in forsure just count from 5 to 1 or whatever and go know ur gonna land it and dont pussy out thats when ull get hurt

Theres not really a way of overcoming fear, you just have to accept that you're scared as shit and do it, and two seconds later you'll be like wow that was way easier than I though and go for it again.

visualize night before, then go into the day pretending like your not gonna throw down and that your just gonna take a chill day. at some point in the day once you've warmed up but you're not too tired, just get to the top of the in run and clear your mind. put on some music that pumps you up then just drop in. the entire way down the in run just imagine a stick of butter in your mind like this:

^do not let that out of your mind and when you approach the lip just huck it exactly how you imagined and you will most likely stomp.

After I got comfortable with 3s the way I kept going was to tell myself that its actually not a hard trick at all. Its really simple. I was stupid to worry about it so much.

Be realistic as to what you want to try/achieve.
Try it on a powder day first (like someone said), so much better...

Think about how and what you're gonna do when you're riding up the lift. Just visualize whatever trick you want to do when going up, over and over again. As soon as you step out of the lift, don't think about it, ski over to the park and just go, go go.
That works for me.

I remember this one time I screamed to my buddy (who was on the slope beneath me): 'I'M GONNA DO IT!' and he was like sure. I was just like, ok I can do this. Thought about it while riding up and just went for it. Bam!

IMPORTANT: psychology 201 class is in session. Say there's a man who is terrified of being on bridges and you want to get him over his fear. If you take him onto a bridge he will begin feeling very anxious and scared. The man's instinct will be to run off the bridge. Once he's off the bridge, his anxiety will decrease. What has his brain learned? Leaving the bridge = good. This will cause his desire to leave bridges to grow. Each time he encounters a bridge and runs, it becomes harder to stay and easier to go. How does this translate to skiing? You will always feel fear when learning new tricks. It's very important how you deal with it. Each time you feel the fear and don't confront it, you set yourself back further and further. However, if you confront the fear and go for it, the anxiety and fear will decrease. What has your brain learned in that situation? GOING FOR IT = good. It will become easier and easier for you to huck new tricks. Your response to the anxiety will go from "flight" to "fuck this shit, i'm gettin it." As always, don't go too crazy. You can't throw doubles through sheer willpower, but you CAN push yourself to a much higher level than you might think. Have fun and send it.
