** Line Afterbang... Bang For The Buck? **

Hey guys,

       As I mentioned in my last post, I'm looking for a playful and high performance park ski. If any of you own a pair of Line Afterbang's what is the overall consensus of this ski? What are it's flaws? What are it's advantages?

       I've done my research and much to my dismay I can't seem to find these skis at the top of any lists? Why is that? It seems like a very fun and playful ski and the skateboard multilayer wood core construction screams durability and seems like a good selling point. Why don't I see it going up against any of the top of line park skis out there?

it really is not that "bang for the buck ski." Chronics (atleast at my local shop) are only $50 more then the A bang, so if i were you i would check out either the chronic or step up. Both of those skis are built way better then the afterbang.

Maybe because the Abang is complete garbage. I had them for a season & hands down worst ski I have ever owned.

-heavy & they get heavier with age as they get water soaked
-slowest base known to mankind, spring skiing is impossible with them
-out of park they ski like a 2x4

Lots of skis to be had for a little more money that are worlds better.

Afterbangs are really either hit or miss.
You either love them or hate them.

Most people hate them as they are known to explode, and lost their poppyness overtime.

So far I love my abangs. They're really poppy and not heavy. I don't know why people say that.

You havent ridden anything like an ar7 then. The extruded base does NOT hold wax, so they are slow. They are heavy as fuck, and 8 times out of 10, they get water logged and explode. If it's you urban only ski, go for it, otherwise get something else. They are aweful.

Not even, if you are going to be skiing urban don't bother paying that much for a new ski just to trash, buy a real ski from a few years back used or something.

Not trying to knock any other skis. I just prefer softer and symmetrical skis. In my opinion they don't feel heavy at all. The abangs are just more of what I look for in a ski than the ar7.

Well honestly if thats what I was looking for I would ride the punx. Thats just my opinion though.
