Demo bindings are the Shit!

So i just got some brand new PX12 Demo bindings from evo for 80 bucks and had them mounted on my ARG's. I just got 191 BG's and wanted to put on the STH 16's that were mounted on the ARG's, so i started shopping around for bindings and then it hit me. Why not throw some demo bindings on there, and let friends and fam experience the ridiculous feeling that is ARG's on a pow day? Pretty stoked. thinking about starting a Maggot and NS'er demo fleet, but thats another story for another day.

So now i have a pretty awesome set of skis. So the binding setup looks pretty intuitive, but does any shop tech out there want give me a short run through on how to switch out boots...just so i dont overlook some small but very important detail.

And this IS going to happen, so the more info i get, the safer i, and everyone else, am... and the more good Karma you accumulate, and who couldnt use a little more good Karma in their life?

well, i'm not a binding tech(first off dont sue me)

but, on the demo binding itself, especially the px demos, there should be a color coded chard on the back of the heel corresponding to different bsl's of boots. then you just gotta stick the boot in there and turn witha a flat head to the corresponding place on the chart(its not really a chart).

but i may be completely missing somthing like forward pressure or somthing... so get other info first

They're alright, the Griffon and Jester are certainly my favorite after mounting up some new ones yesterday. I'd definitely want to mount my own skis with the good old set ones though, something like a S916 or FKS is just going to be way more solid.

Demo bindings are great if you're going to let like a dozen different people gangbang your skis.

For a pair that you would use exclusively, I mean... you do realize demo bindings suck, right?

The ARG's are now skis that i would use ONLY on storm days where only the lower mtn is open because of wind. So, mellow, surfy, low angle type stuff, like once or twice per year. I have other skis for everything else. Plus, anyone riding these things would likely be riding them rather gently.


I am fully aware that these particular demo bindings are pretty meh, but i figured that they would give life to some epic pow skis that would just get burried in my closet otherwise.

How many times have you come up with a friend or fam member who could have hugely benefited from proper pow skis? why not hook them up for free?

I myself like the tyrolia design be it fisher 4front head whatever. Pretty easy demo binder to adjust.
We (wasatchpowderskis) have gone away from the px dildo demos. I myself don''t care for them.
soli and marker demos aren't bad I like soli for the toe height adjustment as Ijamat lugged soles into demo binders a lot and through release testing I know this isn't the best idea, but knock on wood works for me.
In order to run a demo fleet the ability to center or allow clients to be able to ski a given ski +1 -2 or whatever they desire is key so demo binders are a must.
No movable toe = no ability to center various bsl's
i ski pretty hard and am +200lb and have never had a problem with the tyro sp series prerelease.
Now when will someone come up with a movable toe demo AT binder is what I want.
We mounted quite a few skis this season with Jondrums binding freedom plates so we can switch between duke/baron- dyna /plum or soli dyna. So we have at binders for both peeps w/ and w/out
tech soled boots, but these are all mounted at a specific bsl so + or - will equate to = or- on ski center and cannot be changed.

Rossi/ Tyrolia demo bindings are awful. So many moving parts/ extra weight. plus they take you up off the ski and give you that stupid race-ski feel being on a plate. Not to mention they kill the flex of the ski underfoot.

Griffon/Jester demos are the same as the retail binding in the heel(longer track) and the toe just has a track to slide on with a screw in the toe to adjust. the best demo option by far.

it's hard i had a set of lhasa pows with bishop bombers on em for a season and didn't rent them much.
The inablity other than those bombers I'm not even sure they are still making those. To not be able to center more than one bsl hurts. It's like sure we have teles but you need to ski that ski + or minus. helicoil's/inserts would be a good soultion but wps sells almost all it's skis post season and extra holes hurt. would like to but i don't hold the purse strings.
We need to pay extra for the insurance on at stuff as it is.
seaburn there isn't a whole lot of diffence in the sp vrs. mojo/deadbolt series none to change the skis flex much have you even ever mounted or skied a pair?
and demos do what they do allow for any bsl to be centered at any point and changining mount points chamges how most if not all skis ski imo

Agreed. I tried the Marker demos and was amazed at how much lighter they are comparative to any other demo binding I've tried. Low profile track too, which is nice.
