Im just wondering if it would be a bad idea to mount these center. I ride mostly all mountain a bit of park but the skis i last had were center and i love how easy it was to ride switch, Any opinions?

Well, I have ridden quite a few pow skis mounted true center, and here is my take.

Mounting in this position inhibits switch pow skiing. If you think about where your center of gravity is, it makes a bit more sense. When riding switch, you are usually leaning pretty far forward to compensate for the rear tip float. This puts your center of gravity far in front of your toes which is like riding backseat. This inhibits edge control and makes landing drops switch a bit more difficult and easy to pancake.

Thanks for the input man, im just thinking because I ride a lot of groomers and such too if i should center mount it as its what im used too. I do go to the park and im wondering if they arent center mounted if I will just not enjoy the park. I enjoy going down the runs looking for natural stuff on the side whens theres no pow availible. My last skis were head cherry kiwis(first set of skis)

No... but maybe I'm not reading what you wrote right.

Mounting closer to centre make it so your centre of gravity moves to a position that allows you to better engage the ski when skiing switch since you won't be leaning so far forward to compensate for the lack of tail.

Park will be more fun when there not center mounted. 3cm back makes no noticeable weight distribution difference when spinning and going slightly back will make carving off jumps much more stable.

Hmm. I see your point.

However, when in pow even a center mounted ski still requires a very staggered stance and good compensation to keep stability when riding switch. This effect is particularly noticeable when riding a ski that has a softer tip and tail.
