Best place to get skis mounted

where in michigan? don thomas is the best to my experience

Im in kzoo, but i also go up north every weekend and need some one who will get them dead center and not fuck it up, like past ski mounts.

Boyne mountains ski shop isn't bad. I'm not to familiar with any integer good shops up north

Sorry I have to correct that. The Boyne stores in Bloomfield and in Novi are thee worst ski shops in michigan. Bad service, bad selection, and they know absolutely nothing about freestyle skiing

Ah thanks for that! I only know about the shops in petoskey michigan and at the resorts.

in your garage. its easier than it looks and way over priced. takes some creativity though. for example, take a ball point pen and cut it into a 1-2 in section of plastic tube and us that over the drill bit so it doesnt go through you skis. look up some vids of people doing it at home too and practice on some old skis a few times to get it perfect. i mounted mine last year and no problems whatsoever

That is all true with the exception that they do have a few people that know about freestyle at the novi store

yeah not really at all. They only difference between BCS and Don Thomas is the fact that they sell Full Tilts in store, while we have to special order them. other than that you have no reason to argue because the only reason people say they are better is because of that.
Last time I checked they don't even do full custom foot beds...

oh wow, theres are reason all the freestyle skiers on NS, with the exception of those who work at BCS, reccomend Don thomas over BSC. Why do you think Don Thomas sells way more park/twin tips skis?

Experience is key when it comes to the Bloomfield BCS store. They have snowboarders recommending park skis based on if the topsheet design is cool looking or not. They have a low supply and lack of variety twin tips. Not to mention the lack of park boots, freestlyle outerwear, and freestyle poles. The place is a shithole when it comes to freestyle skiing equipment and I will say it to any BCS manager's face. If they are looking for a better freestyle department, tell them my consulting services are available for $100 per hour.

The Newschool Freeskiing demographic is heavily drawn into Don Thomas because of Full Tilts. They may not ultimately get Full Tilts as there boot, but that certainly draws a good number of people in.

Work in shop, then learn how often top sheet design is a factor for selling someone a ski. The vast majority of people coming into get a ski for theit kids do it off of top sheets. Even today I had a young girl come in with her father looking at Twins, after narrowing it down to a Volkl Alley or a Line Mastermind she went with the mastermind over the Alley, based on the looks. People, especially parents, are really really picky about graphics and whats in the top of there skis.

I don't think I've seen you in our shop once this year to even check out what we have and had. We have already been through a full size run of Gotamas and we still have 2 pairs of S7's in stock. We have 1 pair of Atomic Theory's, and a few Punx left. As far as Line goes we have a bunch of A'bangs, and some masterminds. The Influence has been rather successful as well. Not to mention all the Nordica, k2, Volkl, and Fischer skis we have and have had people extremely stoked on.

As far as boots goes we are still looking for the 3rd strong company to carry. We have Nordica, which we run very deep in, and are very successful with, as our main hitter for park boots. I am riding the Ace Of Spade, and honestly I think its the best boot in the world. We also have Salomon SPK's as our second line of boots.

We have tried Full Tilt and Dalbello, and the general consensus is that no one likes the way they fit. Even with the diversity of skiers and foot types within the store no one really liked the way Dalbello Kryptons or Il Moro's fit. Full Tilt was something that I wanted at one point, but the fact of the matter is that it's a 20 year old design and once you take someone out of one and put them in a Nordica they pretty much never go back, myself included.

I would like to have Full TIlts in the store just for the people that are really set on them, but we can still get them in about 2 weeks time for anyone that walks in to buy them. But we are still in the look for a good 3rd boot company

As far as freestyle outerwear we are pretty much the best. We run super deep in Orage, and we're the only store in SE Michigan to have Nike. We also have The North Face Gonzo (Twall Pro), and many more brands like Flylow, Volcom, and Spyder.

So with all of that being said, a staff of freeskiers that loves freesking, people that care enough about you guys and your support to reply to your posts about our store on Newschoolers, The best brands in the industry on our wall, and the highest customer service ratings at the Novi store, I fail to see why no one wants to support us

Don Thomas is the best forsure. I have been to both boyne stores and don thomas many times. I cant say much about the novi store cause it was pretty good the one time I went, its just way too big in my opinion and far away for me. The bloomfield store however is just awful. I have gone there many times and they have almost noone in the whole store that knows anything about a park skis, and they have no selection of park skis. Everyone that works upstairs is a snowboarder. Don Thomas has the best workers and they all know a whole lot about park skis because most of their workers ski park.
