Sunshine or Lake Louise

Title says it all.
I will be going to Banff in the beginning of the new year. Which mountain would you recommend? Which one is better in terms of difficulty, terrain, flow, crowds etc. I will be with my girlfriend and it will be her first time on a Mountain so Which one has more memorable terrain (not groomers) that is at the intermediate level.

personally i enjoy lake louise more it seems more basic then sunshine and better park then sunshine

Louise, alot more options than Sunshine and there park will most likely be up by that time if your interested in that. Also if you don't luck out with the weather Sunshine isn't the best when it's cloudy, but Louise has enough trees you can see where your going

Id say if the weather was right, sunshine. However, sunshine is always windy and cold as fuck so who knows. Lake louise is also 45 mins away from banff which = more gas and stuff. Just my 2 cents.

Does Louise allow jumps again? I know they abolished them like 3-4 years ago, but i think i saw an edit recently with someone hitting jumps?

Louise for park, sunshine for pow

Louise definitely, I was there on Saturday, mini park was real fun, and the runs were good. Sunshine had really fun runs too but the park wasn't as good.

Last year was their second year with jumps again I think and it was actually super fun, good flow and alot of fun features, I know alot of people liked it better than Sunshine's park

both are good, sunshine rely's on all natural snow which is fun cause it doesnt get nearly as icy as louise. louise has some really fun backside terrain, shine does as well but u need a beacon and partner to access it (delerium dive)
i would say try both, they are 30 mins apart, on a sunny day you cant beat shine!

Sunshine is more openy meadows kinda terrain, and everything is accessible. Might be a little less crowds, but it all depends on when you go.

Louise isn't as open, but it offers a green and blue run off of every life (except Summit Poma). Louise has a fair amount of steeps (Whitehorns, Eagle Ridges), along with glades, tree skiing and plenty of beginner runs. Along with their "postcard" scenery, you can't really go wrong with Louise.

I can't really give much insight into Sunshine, since I've skied it twice in the past 8 years, people seem to love it though. I just prefer Lake Louise since I grew up in the town for 12 years, and know the mountain like the back of my hand.

Yeah, RCR bought Lake Louise a few years back and decided to first get rid of all their halfpipes, followed by getting rid of all their jumps. From what I understand the previous owner didn't like how RCR was running "his" hill so he [Charlie Locke) bought the hill back and put jumps back into the park.

stupid RCR.
