Save the Casselberry Trails

If you ride bmx or have any background knowledge of bmx, you know that the Casselberry trails in Casselberry, FL are one of the most important set of bmx trails in the United States. Recently the local community and the city are trying to take away these awesome trails. The trails have been around since 1995 and are on a local house property that recently almost was foreclosed on, but due to people funding money, they were able to save the trails.

Here enclosed is a petition to sign to fight against the city and save the trails. I got this link from Vitalbmx.com

Thats brutal. As a trail builder i can appreciate how much work goes into any riding spot like that. Why does the city want to tear them down?

Just because like every other person in power in a city, they hate to see these things around because it just screams the word "Liability" and also the house's property might be another reason why.

For a good example in Austin, Texas. 9th street trails are allowed there by the city, and even the city put in water lines so they could manage them in the dry Texas summer. I don't know why more city officials do not follow examples like these.

Well the property is under some kind of ownership. Because back in 2009 i think when alot of forclosures happened in Florida. This house was part of it. But a bunch of BMX'ers across the world raised enough money to buy it back. But I would look up on that as I summed that up from an article I read two years ago so my information may be a little off.
