So yesterday our entire school was required to go see The Laramie Project put on by our drama class. If you don't know what The Laramie Project is, it's the story of Matthew Sheperd. A gay guy who was killed by 2 other dudes and they supposedly did it by beating his face in with the butt of a pistol AND because he was gay.
I can understand making it optional, but is it really the job of a public school to force it's beliefs regarding social issues down it's students throats?
For the record I'm not some weird homophobic uber-right wing asscrack. I just think it's kind of messed up the school felt this was necessary.
