Not true at all. I have a driving history chocked full of speeding tickets. I went to court this past spring for an 83 in a 65 in NY. Most there with clean records were getting speeding tickets reduced to basically a parking ticket of 90 bones or so. My ticket was still reduced just for showing up and providing my driving history to the court. They dropped the points and I had to pay a reduced fine. I even had points on my license at the time.
How bad was the ticket I would ask. If it's just a few over, it will most likely be around a hundred or so and hardly worth your time going to court. If it was a pretty bad ticket I'd say take it to court. Just state to the judge that you are a very careful driver and this will never happen again.
upon further investigation of your profile I see that you are of asian descent and live below the mason dixon line, i wish you good luck if you take it to court.
no but really, take it to court. Is there some reason you are trying to avoid court????
Why would you take it to court? You have to get up at 7 in the morning and fuck around at the worst place in the world for 3 hours just to pay the same amount of money as you would anyway. You can pay tickets online, it takes like two seconds. You can even get a free extension just by asking for one online.
BTW remember to request traffic school or your insurance will shoot up.
in my experience with tickets you can just call the number on the ticket and they will reduce it for you over the phone.. easier than wasting a day in court and same result
