your right I don't think I would consider buying any other k2 skis other then the hellbents.

Why would you not buy K2?

They make pretty solid skis. Hellbent is good if you have deep pow.

Unless you live in Alta or Mt. Baker, you'll use them 5% of the time in a year, I have a friend who has a pair and they are a BITCH on groomed.

Lot of hellbent hate going on here. I live jn whitefish mt and ski at big mtn and although this is my first year in the hellbents I was a frequent on them last season. It all depends on your skiing style, size, location, and weather or not you get the newer hellbents as opposed to the older ones I have the raging clowns from last year and I love these things . Obviously they don't ski groomers as well as my jjs or anything but thats not why u buy hellbents...but still they are very stable on groomers if you aren't a pussy.

Definitely depends on you skiing style, but i fucking love them, so damn much. Im 6'1 175 and picked up the 189's, and they're actually the funnest skis i've been on. They aren't even shitty on groomers, you just need to work a little harder to get them up on edge. If you can get that, then they're super fun, not at all uncomfortable.

Of course some on3p dood will probably get all grouchy and disagree, but srsly, funnest skis i've used.

Last thing, don't ever mount anywhere other than center. Ever.

took mine on a few trips out west last year and absolutely loved them more than i thought i would! such a blast in the deep.

for people that say they have very little edge grip on hard pack, i thought they performed pretty well. they certainly wouldn't be my everyday ski at my icy east coast home mountain, but it's still fun to take them out from time to time.

one thing is i'm definitely not looking forward to hauling them while touring. yikes.

fuck that, anyone who thinks hellbents are actually good on groomers is probably a beater. just because you can get them on edge doesnt stop them from chattering like a motherfucker at speed.

Sure a soft tip and tail that is that rockered will chatter, but they are solid where it counts, underfoot. They are soft fore and aft, not torsionally.

this....seriously guys iv been riding k2 for the past 5 years and havent had a more durable ski(only cons in the top sheet chips alittle....who actualy gives a shit about that anyways).

LiIterly rode my disordlys through 3 years of so much abuse on rails and a year of urban and there holding up perfect, only reason why i had to buy new skis this year(k3 domains) is becosue they got to short.

Heavy, soft, bad bases, ski like a waterlogged uhhh log, and their cores are crap. Just too soft of a ski to be fun.

Yuck, i hate effortless butterable skis, because when you land you effortlessly butter out your landing. plus hellbents suck for landing forward in pow cus they kick you backseat. Surface one lifes, thats a fun ski.

I love hellbents. Epic PNW ski. I just got a pair at the end of last year and have only ridden them 5 times or so I am just getting into their awesomeness I couldn't be happier about getting them.

For me its true, its just not a stable landing platform in heavy alaska "pow". if you dont land perfect, or land flat the rocker kinda kicks you back. Its not hard to get back in control but its fuckin annoying and they are just too soft to be fun.

ive never ridden hellbents but if you want a stiffer skinnier version of the hellbent ive heard the one life is pretty much the ski. never got it to sink but rips even when youre in some mank

I may be biased since i have hated every pair of k2s ive owned since i was a little guy on the juvies. I broke public enemies, juvies and revivals ( the revivals lasted a week before delamming). I got tired of trying to make the hellbents do stuff that they obviously were engineered not to do, so i sold em and got a good ski.

k2 skis ALWAYS fray at the sides which is one reason why I'm heasitating on the hellbents, I want my skis to look nice if there going to be that expensive, plus they'll be much easier to sell if there not frayed.

hellbents too soft?? i thought they were somewhat stiff when i rode them. compared to ep's they are 2x4's.. i like to feel the ski flexing and have a lot of control of the ski's flex. so in pow, i love really soft skis. for the couple days a year where i would charge a couple lines super hard, yes ep's and hellbents were a little too soft, when you are really charging hard the skis kinda flex without you telling them to which is annoying. but for the most part, you can charge hard on pretty much anything and be fine. they are a BC jib ski, not an AK charging ski.

surprisingly hellbents were amazing in the park. ive skiied other rockered skis in the park, and a few camber under foot rocker tip and tail skis (fujas, blend' 2012) and i liked the huge rocker no camber under foot better. seemed poppier, more predictable, and just as stable unless you really fuck up and land backseat. the skinnier rocker park skis just dont seem to ski like a rockered ski. the hellbents actually change what you can do in the park which is awesome.
