So sick! But I thought you should have edited the colors more. The shots seemed extremely pale and light, and definitely needed some adjustments. Once again, your glidecam shots are always unreal and perfect.

good song choice, better than much of your stuff last season. i liked your colours a lot, reminded me more of 16mm than digital with the lack of saturation (in a good way), generally just really good. a little too much slomo for my liking but it didnt ruin the edit by any means. im not a filmer guy though, just a photog whos friends with some.

Yeah, I really like colours like this, thats why I tried to stick to them, I was going to do a little grading but I decided not to. Thanks for the feedback though.

I thought the edit was super good and I loved the song choice. But I really would have liked to hear audio mixed in, especially earlier on in the edit before the song builds up.

Damn, was totally going to use some Mumford and Sons in one of my edits this season. Def a sick band, and sick video btw. Just a question, why were you using a mic if you did not plan on using audio in your video? Then again I don't think audio would have flowed to well with this song.

oh yeah forgot to mention this. im a big fan of hearing natural sounds, are you running any mic setup? i know it would probably be hard to get that great of sound without spending a fortune (and having to do a lot of work in post), especially with all the followcam work you do, but i love hearing the sound of a stomped trick or skis sliding on metal. just something that would make an already great edit that much better.

awesome. great song choice too. im personally not a fan of the pale colours but to each his own. only one tiny thing, i wouldnt use the side angle of the elbow kink rail, it almost looked like the rail was just a flat rail

real sick, agree on audio, i can see the videomic in your shadows so use it!

and still not a fan of all or most of your shots 60p->30 but you had a lot of quality ones so i didn't mind as much

i always use my video mic even if i plan on not using natural audio because my glidecam is balanced with the mic on it

i actually really liked the colors in this one. fit the song and vibe really well i thought. maybe could have put a few more real time shots in there to add the slow mo but i enjoyed it a lot

I actually kinda liked the coloring, it kinda dims down the brightness of it while maintaining the natural on-mountain-color. Some edits have way to much color grading and I liked the way this turned out

I thought it was really sick, only thing I would say content wise was there was a lot of sevens haha. Not that sevens in any form are not sick, but just seemed like a lot to me.

your edits are really good man but just PLEASE mix in some 24 and 30p with all your overcrank footage. It's getting REALLY annoying, stationary glidecams with a bit of tracking on a wide lens overcranked from 60p are NOT that difficult and you CAN do better. Please, do some full length followcams and some 24p follow cams in your next edit. That's my criticism, but overall a well done edit, I'd just like to see more from you.

dope edit, solid riding, but I found it to be very very stock for you. your cuts were very predictable and repetitive, and you used a little too much slow mo for me. that and I like to see some long lens shots thrown in. mix it up man

i saw this in the popular video section on the home page and knew ther would be a discussion, and i found it! the filming and skiing was sick, and i noticed what u were doing with the colors. I cant say im a huge fan of the colors, i really like vibrant colors, but thats just my opinion. overall great job zach and keep making good stuff!

I really like the lighting actually.

It may seem a bit pale at times.....

but it really "feels" like Winter when I'm watching it.

I have that same colour tint in a few of my shots and they are the ones that really stick out.
Especially when your subject is wearing vibrant colours. So dope; love the contrast.

glide cams = jesus

That was a dope edit but i dont think that the song really fit with the edit even tho the song is sick

Great shots, composition, and I really do enjoy the coloring you used, the saturated look is too much sometimes for sure.
But I do agree with this guy! Not saying I havn't done it myself but I feel that all of the conformed 60fps footage is just a really easy way out of editing, I think a big part of getting the good shots is having smooth stable footage at normal speed. The slowmo makes everything look good but i feel almost all of your edits are entirely slowmo, I would like to see a change. Versatility is good!

Smooth. That's pretty much the whole edit in 1 word.
It was really, really smooth, liked that a lot.
The song was really nice too, fit the vibe well.

Like some people said: too much slowmo, but that wasn't too bad as it fit the song ok.

As for the colors: I didn't like them. At all. Sorry. I like a little more desaturated, look, but your colors made everything look really soft, like slightly out of focus (I know it wasn't but still). Liked you put down the vibrance by a lot (does vibrance exist in video?), which made all jackets/pants have soft borders.

I don't know how to exactly describe it, but I didn't like it at all. Well, to each their own 'eh? Not my favorite work by you, but as long as other people are happy there's nothing wrong with that!

Is it me or there was not enough follow on the jump ? Standing on top of the landing get kind of annoying sometimes. But I still like the style of the edit a lot.

I loved the colors. Gave the edit a really pleasant feel. In my opinion the cave didn't work. When you're cutting to a song that powerful you really need to make sure that you're using the swells and falls in the sound to your advantage. Take everything into account. It felt like you actually cut the edit, then threw the song in.
What you see is what you think, what you hear is what you feel. Being a little more thoughtful and using the nature of whatever song you're editing with can be the difference between a good edit and an outstanding edit. You've got cinematography dialed, just tap into the emotional elements of your film.

I would also just like to point out that the shot at 2:52 was incredible.
