I don't even like Wisconsin, but anyone that comes close to or breaks Barry Sander's record deserves the Heisman. Montee Ball is a beast.

There are 5 or 6 people this year I'd love to see grab it, but more than anyone I think Mathieu should get more love. At his position, he's made a bigger impact than anyone in the country. Understand I'm speaking relatively, obviously he can't throw 30 TD's at cornerback and such. I'm simply saying I think he did the best at exceeding expectations for his position.

The most outstanding player in NCAA football this year is a crapshoot though. Several fantastic candidates.

I agree that richardson may be better. He puts up great numbers in the toughest confrence in all of the ncaa. i dont know about ball though. One could make an argument either way regarding him and James. I guess we'll see who outplays who in the rose bowl though

guys, the nominations were announced yesterday its the five players I posted. no lamichael james, no matt barkley, no kellen moore, no case keenum.


I agree about Mathieu he's a beast and is the mvp of the best team in the nation so I wouldn't be pissed if he won it either.

This isn't remotely true. LMJ outrushed both of them in terms of YPG(he's first in the nation), Hes missed 2.5 games with a dislocated elbow and still outrushed trent in terms of total yards on 40 something less carries, averaging 7.4 yards per attempt to richardson's 6.
Ball beat LMJ in total yards because a) he played more games, b) he had 53 more attempts(his YPA was 6.4)
Ball does have a crazy amount of td's due to the fact that he's a power rusher. LMJ had 17, again missing 2.5 games and with a backup, Kenjon Barner, that rushed for 909 yds and 11 TD's as well as De'anthony thomas adding 7 or 8 more td's.

LaMichael is the best in the country. Give him those two plus games back and it's not even close statistics wise.

Ball should totally get it considering he is likely to tie if not break the College Footbal record for most TD's in a season! I'm sorry but it shouldn't even be a debate.  The only reason that it is a debate is because the SEC is supposedly SOOOOO good.  I call bullshit.  So, whatever, he probably won't get it because he isn't carrying an SEC team on his back and because his defense let down the team on two plays that changed the season.

Sparknotes: Montee Ball and sick of hearing about how the SEC is the only conference that matters.

no one means more to his team than Andrew Luck. without him the Stanford Cardinal are a .500 team. with him they are a #4 team in the nation. Not only is he the best passer, by a lot, of all the QB's, he also essentially runs the offense from the field...and hes not too shabby at running either. Dude has had an absolutely ridiculous year statiscally, and has done iit with zero help around him. He has had no one to throw too, and has suffered a bunch of drops in clutch situations.

What? He is the best QB in the nation by a lot. The heisman isnt given to the player with the best season or carreer, it is given to the best damn player in the game. And that is Luck. he was so damn good that he was able to elevate a very, very mediocre offense to an elite offense.


Just look at the quality of throws that Luck made, every game vs the other QB's. its really not close.

800 fewer yards, less touchdowns, more interceptions

thats not even considering how much better rg3 is at rushing I think overall he has 1300+ more yards of offense and at least 5 more touchdowns and its not like baylor is a powerhouse

never said luck had a better year statistically. what i said was that he had a great year statistically, and had to work with a bunch of drop prone, slow recievers. he had to fit the ball into tight windows, and hit recievers perfectly in stride every time. I can not stress how impressive Andrew Lucks throwing strength, accuracy and touch are. combined with the fact that he essentially ran the offense for stanford, I cant see anyone being all that close to close to him.

RG3 played in a system that was pass first, pass second, then have RG3 run with it 3rd; it was very conducive to huge states.
Case keenum had huge stats as well. so did barkley.


Luck is the best QB in college, there is no doubt in my mind. whether he wins the heisman is very much up for debate.

Such a solid group of candidates this year. Id really love to see Montee Ball take it home though. He leads the league in TD's and 2nd in rushing yards. I mean seriously, he's only 1 TD away from Barry Sanders record. BARRY MOTHERFUCKING SANDERS!

Uh, no he was totally in it until the TCU loss. Do you not remember him completely crumpling the one time he was in a pressure situation this whole season? He threw 4 straight passes 15 feet over his receivers heads, got the weakest pass interference call in history on 4th down, and STILL couldn't put his kicker in range with a new set of downs. I thought Kellen Moore was MUCH better than what he showed that game, I was astounded with how badly he played with a perfect situation to remove doubt about his stature.

tough to win the Heisman when you're not even invited to New York.

But RG3 should win. He took a pretty shitty team, led them to a 10-2 record and a #12 ranking. Without him that team is maybe 5-7.

I really hope luck doesnt get it. He is very well rounded but not the best player in the nation, he may be the second..just like last year.

I love watching Tyron Mathheiuw play and id like him to get it.

But Monte Ball deserves it more than anybody, he is the best runningback in the nation, Trent Richardson is the more powerfull back but Monte Ball almost breaking Barry Sanders record? DAMN. My vote would be for him..even tho i fucking hate Wisconsin fuck them! GO MSU!

People also dont realize how good the system and Offensive line were for Monte Ball. Dude is not even the 2nd bes running back in the country.

No one can make an arguement that RG3 is a better QB than Luck in terms of throwing ability. But when you factor in his running ability, he is no doubt a better option at QB. As we have seen with Newton, Vick (and Tebow), QB's who can are more valuable than your typcial "pro" QB. RG3 will win the Heisman for this reason, and that Luck didn't lead his team to an undefeated season.

Luck is nearly as fast as Griffin, he just never has to display it. His 40 time is less than 2 tenths of a second behind RB3. None of this even considers the ridiculous complex offense that luck was running, and adjusting from the line of scrimmage. What Stanford was doing is more complex than some NFL teams and more complex than any FBS team.

RG3 has world class speed. Dont go there.


Luck throws waaaaaaay better than RG3, and means more to his team. Without Luck or RG3 both baylor and Stanford would be .500 teams. With the Quarterbacks in there, Stanford is #4 and Baylor is like #14? That should tell you which player has a larger impact on the game.

running ability is a lot more than 40 time. Luck is very good and did have a complex offense, but RG3 will win because of his stats on the ground in addition to his Td's, pass yards, and completion % he already has over Luck. And Big 12 > Pac 12 in terms of good teams.

uh no. the top three teams in the Pac 12 blow the Big 12 out of the water. the Pac 12 has the #4,5, and 6 teams in the country.

the big 12 has OSU, a vastly overrated KSU team, and then OU? or Baylor?


If the heisman trophy went to the player with the sexiest stats, then Texas Tech would have 6 or 7 past winners. Andrew Luck IS the best player in college, but IDK if he will win it.
