What are your Christmas Traditions?

My family always starts it off buy going and cutting down a tree then decorating the house. Right before Christmas we make some cookies from my grandma's cookbook. Then on Christmas Eve we open one present which is usually like pajamas we wear to bed. Christmas morning we always wake up, have a big breakfast and exchange gifts.

Go to syracuse generally where my cousins aunts uncles that live all gather from all over. Lot of people. Nice but kind of weird. All super religious and conservative so it's sort of an awkward gathering at times.

Other than that no traditions.

My family always goes and picks a tree together, then the same night decorates together. Christmas day my mom hides a pickle ornament in the tree, first kid to find it gets a 50$ gas card. After the giving of gifts we make breakfast, then chill for 2 or 3 hours then go to my grandpa's house to see the whole family (30+ cousins among 7 aunts and uncles families).

Always a good day in my book. To top it all off that night at my grandpa's we sit and watch a movie by the fire place.

Haha I only have a sister who is 3 years older than me. She always finds it because she is lazy and relies on my mom to pay for everything for her, however a 50$ gift card would be great for me because I pay for all my own shit.

I go with my dad to get the tree, my older brother and sister ditched on that so i go to keep him company and help.

My sister comes home and we decorate as a family, then on christmas day we do the usual wake up at 6, open presents, eat breakfast, open more presents.

later we go to a family party, it switches household every year, and we get presents from certain relatives. my aunt makes a chart for which kid gets which family member.

On Christmas Eve we have the classic, "Twas a Night Before Christmas" story read. and everyone goes to bed early. In the morning we cant go downstairs until my parents are awake (rule is never ever broken) and then we open presents and have a huge Delicious breakfast

We all go to the family castle on the family estate in Scotland, (in the midlle of nowhere.)
Then all the man who are 18+ go hunting for some meat.
Last year we got one deer, three rabbits and two ducks.

They are hung for a couple of days then my uncles chef (my uncle takes care of the castle) prepares these lovely meals on a huge 60-year old AGA furnace.

on christmas eve my grandpa comes over to and we go to church, eat moms homemade lasagna and usually watch muppets christmas carol.

christmas morning we go to whoever house in my extended family and have breakfast and dinner there. we also have a little gift exchange game.

Every Christmas Eve me and my dad go to a pub and order the hottest wings on the menu, and every year we have a competition as to who can eat the most. Then we go back to my mom and sister and spend the day lounging around, while relatives pop in for generally pretty long stays up until around 8 then we watch Buddy and me and my dad have a cigar together (that started to years ago).

my favorite christmas tradition is when the santas come to my house on christmas morning. they give me a present, then go upstairs and cheer up my mom. then the next santa comes and does the same thing. once all the santas come and give me all my presents and make my mom really happy, me and my best friend go throw rocks at the trains.

but really i go skiing with the family on christmas day. and then we exchange gifts christmas night. we don't really decorate anymore...

I quite frankly love Christmas tradition... I think I've managed to go to a Santa Claus parade every year of my life so far... might have missed out on my first year of university. Same with cutting down the tree with the family about a week before Christmas.

Open presents Christmas Eve, Christmas day we always go to my cousins place, start the day at church, then head over to the local hockey rink and play shinny for about 3 hours and then have Christmas dinner, chill and let the turkey settle for a while, then come home. Love it.
