British Columbia Smoke Shops

So I was watching this news special on MTV this morning about weed, mainly medicinal marijuana in the U.S. but there was also a feature on British Columbia. I guess they were just liek in downtown Vancouver and they were showing all these smoke shops that were liek Amsterdam style where there were just people blazing up in these cafes. They were sayign that usually the cops didn't even bother them and all, and this one guy who owned one of these shops was even selling like mass bags out of this place. He just had varieties like lined up out front and what had to be at least 10 pounds worth of what looked liek oz. bags on the back.
Then they were like on these islands off the coast of Vancouver where there were all these guys with dozens of plants just in their living room and they would take them in their canoes down to the states and sell them. They said the cops didn't even raid the homes as long as they didn't actually have evidence they were selling the buds.
So what I'm wondering is, is this just MTV exaggerated bullshit or is BC really this lax on weed. I know a bunch of people on this site live in Vancouver and all, so I'm wondering can you guys just walk into one of these cafes and start blazing and whatnot??

not true man, there is no way that you could to that in Vancouver. There are a lot of hemp stores but no where to smoke up

there are two, Blunt Brothers and the New Amsterdam Cafe. they dont sell it there tho, they just allow smoking and sell pipes and food and such, and the cops dont view them as a prioraty. the places that you saw on there selling all the weed were the medical marj. clinics.

I read that there used to be some fany gallery where the owner had like a weed bar at the back. He sold weed for like 8 months before it got shut down

i saw that show.. and like that one place in anstradam if you wanted to smoke a ciggarete you had to go into this like chamber thing.. if thats true.. i know where im moving...

yeah i saw that mtv special too...some of the ways the traffikers got their weed to the destinationw as pretty ingenious.

...they did let them somke up in the shops and i think that they did sell marajuana there too...i wonder if when Serena was doin that special if she smoked up with them???? i betting she prolly did

no, they do not sell it there. the cops prioraties are stoping the traficing of it, not the recreational smokers of it. if they sold it they would be shut down. they just advertise themselves as a 'smoke friendly' cafe. and by the way, i have a couple plants :-D

we had to choose a political party and make a bill to be passed for a unit project for social. we choose the marijuana party/ making weed legal, the class passed it and we got 99% on it , it was tight.

I was watchin that shit too, and they were showin all the different types of bud... i forgot what they said cause i was mad high hahha, but anyways, they had that one kind that sold for 7,000 a pound.. DAYMMMMMm that must be some crazy ass budd, sticky icky, i need to get my hands on that shit!
