Pretzels Easier?

For me pretzels are easier than 270ing off in the same direction of the switch up. It feels like doing the swap in the opposite direction winds me up and then I just whip the 270 off around in the opposite direction super fast. All my friends think it's super weird. Does anyone else feel the same as me?

It all depends if you are left foot or right foot forward and which way your natural spin is. For instance I am like you in that I find pretzel 2s off significantly easier because I am left foot forward and my natural spin is to the left.

A pretzel is when you spin on/onto a rail more than 180 (so switchup, 270 on, etc) and the spin more than a 180 (so another switchup or spin out) in the opposite direction.

from what everybody else has told me
Unsalted pretzel= spin on and off the same direction and Salted= spin on one way and off the opposite direction. but i dont really give a fuck either way.

im sorry but i only think of pretzels over 180 so 270 on spinning counterclockwise and spin off clockwise (backside 2). easiest way to set it is to dip the nose and push with the ball of yer foot to spin off.

That is dumb. A 270 on 270 out the same way is a 270 on 270 out (there might be an old dumb name like crown that people used to call it). The point of calling it a pretzel is to differentiate it, there is no need to add salted or unsalted. That is just retarded.

pretzel can sometimes be used to describe changing direction of spin during a tech rail trick, commonly the spin off.
pretzel =/= frontside swap or spin

The way I was told:

90 on 270 out the other way (for example, left 90 on right 270 out) is a pretzel.

270 on opposite 270 out (left 270 on to right 270 out is a FULL pretzel)

I honestly find the trick depends on the rail. For up rails/boxes, same way 270s out (left 90 on left 270 out) is easier for me. down or flat rails/boxes the pretzel 270 out is easier for me.

why do people always have to fuck everything?

a pretzel is when you spin the opposite way you were actually spinning.

ex:

left 90 on to right 270 out = pretz 2 out
left 90 on to right 180 = pretz switch up

pretzel can be used on switch up and spin off rail.

another exemple:

left 90 on to left 180 to right 270 out = blind swap to pretz 2 out

ok fine if you want that to be a pretzel go for it, but why not just call it a front 2 out. I really dont care to much about this, but that unsalted stuff is bullshit.

It is called a front 2 out and a pretz 2 out. Front 2 is just the more descriptive/detailed name because pretz 2 out could be any 2 out, depending on which way you're spinning before.

Pretz= changing the way you are spinning on a rail, no matter what

Hold up.

Spinning frontside out of a rail means your front faces down the mountain with that initial 90 degrees.. It doesn't matter whether you slide right foot forward or left.

Holy shit this thread went full retard. It's not a pretzel unless 1) At least 180 degrees are spun on and off and 2) the spin off is in the opposite direction. Salted/unsalted is the dumbest thing I've heard in a while. And to OP: that's dope that that's easier for you; wish I could say the same.

it just has to be a change of direction, there is no "minimum" spin required. thats just retarded and too many rules. pretzle=change direction.

Why don't you kids get it???? It is simple as fuck. If you're just getting on a rail with a 90 it's just a front or blind 2. Pretzels are fairly difficult dope tricks and you downplay bosses that throw dope pretzels by thinking that your shitty front 2 is a pretzel 2. There is a minimum spin requirement for pretzel and its at least a 180. Makes the trick much harder to scissor out of. Anyone who hits rails all the time knows this is how it has always been. A pretzel will never be a fucking 90 on to a 2. fucking kids. I MAD BRO

That makes no sense because you're saying that from your perspective a 2 on pretzel 2 would be a 270 to front two which is just spinning a 5 with no direction change at all. I know there are kids in Quebec who would agree with me and use the normal terms. I know skiing trick terminology is stupid and ridiculous at times, but when you break it down, it makes sense to only call a trick a pretzel if you spin over 180 first. Please believe me kids.
