Filming with canon 5d mk ii

does any one on here film skiing with a 5d mk ii? and if so what is your set up?

i am looking at getting a shape paparazzi 1 support handle for stabilization. but i want to know what you guys use.

what do you already have for stabilization. First you want a tripod, then it depends on the type of shooting you are doing. Assuming you want to do follow cams, you should look into a glide cam

I have a 5d II, and I shoot with a 24-105 4L and glidecam for most of my on hill stuff. great combo!

currently i have a tripod.

i was looking into a glide cam but my friend has one and it is heavy to work with for a long time. Thats why i was looking at the paparazzi 1. it seems like it would be less strenuous to use. and not as expensive!

4000pro, but you could use a 2000pro or 2000hd

that thing is literally a piece of metal shaped into an L. Its not going to stabilize your camera, its just going to add a handle. Get a glide cam, they're not that heavy, especially just a dslr.

yeh i was just thinking about the price as well. the glide cams are pretty expensive.

The paparazzi is also good for getting those low shots.

... you have 500-1300 to spend on a lens but you cant spend 400 dollars for unmatched stabilization?

400 is pushing is an over statement. if you want the 4000 pro, you can get it under 400 easily. if your looking for just the 2000 Pro, its like 250 used. theres nothing a glidecam can compare to.
