The problem with America is not in which theory we hold to be true. We've tried every type of philosophy during the Obama administration.
the Obama administration started its 4 years peddling this tax the rich, give to the middle class bullshit. 3 years of that not working has created a huge backlash and a public voice for the opposite super-capitalist system.
That system's not gonna work either. Know why? We can spend all day discussing supply and demand and which one we need to increase. But what if we can't increase either because the problem is not the quantity of money either actor has at its disposal, but the motivational capacity for sustaining the economy?
What if we've gotten so lazy as a society, so entitled, that our actual capacity for output is significantly lower, while our capacity for consumption grows? Bigger appetite, less supply all around. The rich are more incompetent than they were in the 80s and the poor are even less motivated to work than they were during the carter administration.
Why don't we all turn off CNBC for 2 seconds, forget about what the government is doing to us, and all just try to do the best we can with what we have? What happened to taking control of one's destiny and focusing on only what we can control? Is there a paper you could have spent 1 more hour refining? Should you have done your laundry today and instead opted to watch Boardwalk Empire? Could you have better spent your $20 buying a new tie to go to your interview than buying that gram of weed and smoking and sitting all day on your ass?
I can't believe for a second that there is a single American who could not make 5-10 better choices A DAY that would dramatically improve his/her own life, while creating an aggregate that is much more capable.
