This could be one of the most inaccurate statements on NS right now...no offense.
Afterbangs were designed and built to be use for urban skiing...and honestly, there good for that purpose. But as far as regular skiing, they horrible.
Durable...to an extent...but after 1/2 a season on them, here are the bases on mine when I had them:
Fast...no, just no...slow bases, run though wax (I had to wax them every night just to try and keep up with people). Not to mention they can't turn for crap...if you want to go straight, you'll be ok, but try taking a quick left or right turn and you'll hook an edge and fly into a tree or something...scariest skis I've ever been on.
Good on jumps? How can a ski that was designed and MARKETED as a "rail only" ski going to be good on jumps. Try and carve off a lip, you'll skid out or catch an edge off the lip...scary. Straight line a 50footer and MAYBE you'll make it to the knuckle...if your lucky. Land too far back seat and the noodle effect with wheely you out. Not even the Line team uses them on jumps anymore...
I bet you, if you rode something like a Rossi Scratch/S4 or Armada AR7 or an ON3P Filthy Rich and you'll think you're statement was the craziest thing you've ever read and you'll never even want to see an Afterbang again, let alone ride one...just sayin'.
