Hay guys i was looking to get a new camera and i didnt want to spend more than 600 what do you think is a good camera and i like videoing my friends and making edits thanks
do you want a camera that you can let your friends use?
how much do you know about cameras?
are you willing to learn how to use a good one?
if you want something basic look for a good basic camcorder but if you want to learn and get serious about filming maybe go for something a little better
well i not sure if i want a dslr or a camcorder i have been debating that i wont take that any pictures and i want to get pretty serious about filing but i want to stay under probably 550 so what do you think then
You should definitely get one of those small panasonic handicams, theyre great. Just find out what thread size the front of the camera is then you'll probably need to buy some sort of step up ring (only like 2 bucks) to like 37mm and you could get any 37mm threaded fisheye
i recommend not using one. but if you must... shit i don't see any filter thread size listed. i see them on the camera. call b&h and ask them, they're helpful. i don't know really much of anything about fisheyes, i don't like them much.
28mm isn't that tight, but yeah your right. i was just saying, not a fisheye fan. idk much about camcorder attachments, dslr guy. but maybe you could point him in the right direction with a standard wide angle that won't kill his iq?
give b&h a call tomorrow (or email) and ask them what the filter thread size is for that camera. you could probably use one of those, but you might need a step up/down (can't remember which is which lol) ring.
Me fuck off? Are you kidding me? You're giving absolutely terrible fucking advice. Wtf is he suppose to do with just a t2i and a kit lens? he doesn't want to spend MORE THAN 600 aka thats all the money he has. You're a fucking clown, just because you own a bunch of expensive shit that your parents bought you doesn't make you smart. Now stop giving shitty advice or i will call you out.
come on dude. he asked for advice, i gave him some. don't start getting all pissy because my opinion conflicts with yours. kids raise up money. i sure the hell did to pay for all my gear. who says he can't raise up money in the future to buy some glass? you can do a lot of shit with the kit lens, therefore its not like the set up is useless. I've made mistakes in settling for things because of the amount of money i have, where i should have raised up more to buy something else. it happens, and maybe he should take that into consideration. don't start thinking I'm some rich kid who's parents bought all my gear and I'm a clown and give shitty advice blah blah blah. I was just throwing out my opinion.
You gave him shitty advice, you can't just take a t2i out with the kit lens and expect it to be as good as a little handycam. Does he have any kind of tripod? doesnt sound like it, glide cam? definitely. You need more than just the body and the kit lens and id hope someone like you would know that. I dont care if its your "opinion" its a shitty opinion and im not gonna let some stupid kid trying to give advice fuck over some other kid who has no idea what he's doing. Sure he can raise money, but right now he has ONLY 600 dollars, the best choice for him is to pick up a panasonic hd handycam and go from there, NOT to get a t2i kit and be completely lost.
whatever dude just calm down. i know billions of kids that disagree with you right now, and I'm sure theres billions out there that agree. it all matters what the kid chooses. now that many options have been thrown out, he can choose the road that'll give him the what he feels he needs/should do.
Holy shit you are a fucking idiot, just stop dude, I was starting to consider you a decent contributor to M&A but you have clearly proven you're just another stupid kid.
Don't judge me because I threw out the option for him to wait and raise up some money for a decent t2i set up.. Not to mention its like the most popular dslr for people getting into this type of shit.
If he says he only has 600 to spend then advising a t2i is shit advice, and that's a fact, no question. I recently priced up a t2i set up that was very reasonable and it came to well over 1500 and it is incredibly easy to go way, way above that.
OP, I'm in a very similar situation to you with a very tight budget, and so far the best option is as mentioned above with a little panasonic from the tm range. Make sure you leave at least a couple of hundred for a tripod, it's definitely a mistake that many newcomers make, a 701 head with 055 legs should suffice. But please do not make the mistake of thinking buying a dslr will automatically give you great footage, it's so much more than that.
i think I'm being misunderstood haha. i completely agree with your first part. I'm just stressing the fact that the 600 bucks being put towards the TM, could be put towards a t2i set up. Obviously you'd need more, but it will be PASSABLE to use the kit lens and free hand until he could raise up more money for other gear. I just feel a the building up of a t2i set up over the years would be much more useful and higher quality than a panasonic tm. Ive been building my 7d set up for over a year now and it is amazing. please don't think i am against evans or your idea, i am just simply stating my opinion. agree or disagree, it doesn't matter to me haha.
