Just got a gopro and was wondering what software I should buy to make edits. I don't want to spend over $150.

NSG. But if its just a go pro iMovie or the windows equivalent will work fine.

At that price level don't even worry about it. Just go with iMovie or whatever came on your computer.

Torrent or follow youtube tutorials on how to download Final Cut Pro (if your on a mac i didn't read the OP) or Adobe Premiere cs5 for free. Or just sony vegas 11 if you want it.

Just look into that its free and pretty easy.
