Thoughts on Panasonic SD-800K?

Hey ns so I am asking for a camera for christmas and found this camera. Looks pretty nice and for a good price. My parents said that I could get a camera under 550$. I know that really limits my possibilities in cameras but the Panasonic SD-800K is on sale for 497$. Think I should get it? anything you don't like about the camera or just general feedback? I will be just filming, mostly action sports: skiing, skating, wake skating, biking etc. So if you don't think I should get this camera then please give me suggestions.

seems pretty legit, 1080/60p is for sure impressive, but just FYI, $500 is a the normal price, not some sick deal, so IDK if that would influence your decision. ($500 on amazon)

my friend just ordered it, im kinda sceptical, but it does take 1080 60p so i hope its good, dont really know much about it

but i do know the hdc tm 700 is awesome, probably a little out of your price rang i think its like 700, but maybe worth the money if you can swing it

Yea I was looking at that camera but its just a little to pricey for my parents, there not really looking to spend that kind of money of one of there 3 sons but thanks

i know what ya mean

i just looked

the difference between the hd series and the SD-800k is that the hd series have built in memory, the sd 800 takes sd cards, also the sd 800k doesnt have the zoom ring around the lens, its just like other cam corders

i went and watched some videos on youtube, you gotta watch them at 1080 on youtube, and it looks really nice, id get it for that price
