NS, feedback please

I am enrolled in a public speaking class, and for our last speech we have to present a Special Occasion speech. (i.e wedding toast, eulogy, award acceptance speech, best man toast, graduation..etc.)

and so, after thinking and pondering, i thought doing a speech related to skiing could work? maybe?

a long the lines of "congratulations, you have stepped into your first ski bindings....etc." and then just going on about how (this person) progressed in skiing, got better every day he/she went skiing.

what does NS think?

and i'm open to any other suggestions.

my backup speech was going to be a wedding toast. but..i have no idea what i would do with that

might be a bit harder than other ones, but the graduation speech you used for an example might be an easy one

I like what you've got going so far!

Also: a eulogy might be an easy thing to do as well along the lines of people "skiing powder in heaven." You might be able to elaborate more on it because you can talk about their life of skiing and then how they'll continue on after they have passed away.

you could do a graduation speech but compare it to skiing. i'm not sure if that makes sense to you but you could talk about how elementary school was like a bunny slope etc etc.

oh! i get it lol that would actually be a really fun one to do i think. since we're almost done with our first semester as freshmen college students.
