How long does it take to get them down so that you're comfortable with them on any jump? I am pretty new to skiing and I can 180 but it's kind of sketchy.

usually people wait for their third testicle to form before they attempt advanced tricks like the 360. i think ive only seen a 2baller land a 360 once, tom wallisch i believe

go find a small jump with a landing (preferably) not onto a trail you want a downward slope, do a 180 then next run do a 270 and butter it out to a 360 then do a 360

usually once you've landed your first few,and you do them a lot you can do them of most anything.

do off a puny ridge then build up slowly thats what i do for every spin

i found that after you get a few on small jumps its good to take it straight to a bigger jump to perfect it as you have more airtime and also speed transfers into rotation.

Depends how confident you are with them, start on small jumps then start doing them off random bumps. Then move up to going faster and bigger jumps. It's really up to you how fast you'll get em down.

personally it took me 1 season, i prefer 5's though cuz i spin a lil off axis so i'm not back seat when i 5 if u hear what i'm screamin

It's just a mental block, you're probably just so used to doing 5s when it comes to seven your muscle memory is stuck on 5s. Just keep tucked and keep looking with your head.

Go into the backcountry and build the biggest jump you can or just go to chads and throw a one like your on a smaller jump...you will achieve the 360 rotation, weather you land that ehhhhhh

I had this problem too. What you're doing is once you see your landing at 360, you stop turning your head. You gotta ignore the landing completely on your first spin and catch it at 630 degrees. If you have a gopro or helmet cam, you can see it. It also doesn't hurt to set your spin too hard because you can always open up to slow it down. when I first learned them, it was on a 25' jump so it was huck city. Now that I do them on bigger jumps, it makes the spin easier.

I would rather be able to 360 perfectly smooth with a cool grab than a stupid looking floppy 540 like I have seen plenty of kids do. or even 740 for that matter.  Like the kids who spin ridiculously hard on really small jumps and get a 540 looks lame. 

Heck, if I was amazing at riding switch I'd prefer a 180 shifty over a sloppy 360.

i honestly dont like seeing kids attempting to throw tricks when they are just learning to ski. if you want to be able to learn tricks pretty easily, (im talking about basics here) learn how to properly ski. no pizza and fries.. doing 360's on the ground helps to do them in the air. helped me anyway.

How about learn to ski before you really try to learn anything in the park. 180's arent cool to do if you suck at skiing they just look like crap. Learn how to carve, make good turns, etc. Don't be one of those park clowns who cant turn for shit outside of the park

I am a pretty good skier and I would say I actually need to bring my trick ability up to my skiing level. Not a park rat, bring my skiing ability up to my tricks.

i'm callin BS on this one... you said you can barely do 180s and they're pretty sketchy..

whatever, 7's, you just need to get past the mental block, keep looking up n around, stay tucked (arms in) and it'll come around. then just keep practicing until you got them real comfortable

this sounds like more of a mental thing. its just your head telling you to stop. At 5, make a conscious effort to keep rotating your head. tell yourself to try and point your skis back downhill. just get used to the idea of rotating bigger spins, I'm sure you have the motion itself down

na chances are your not going to get hurt throwing a 3.  just hit like a 20 foot jump and go for it. it will most likely come around
