Hi all. I need your help. So I am a freshman in college thinking about going into healthcare. I basically chose this field at first due to good pay and good job opportunity. I find biology pretty interesting too. This semester I took Chemistry and basically hated it. I found it hard to pay attention to a subject I found overly boring and useless. Now I am second guessing healthcare because I would have to take another semester of basic chem and 2 semesters or organic chem which I heard sucks big time.

So at this point I am getting pretty nervous. I really have no idea what i might want to do going into my second semester. I am basically choosing random classes to get an idea. i need some ideas or advice from you guys.

About me: I like video editing and filming much like many of NS'ers do but I have a hard time believing I get a reliable job in that field. I like and am decent at art but once again bad job opportunity. I find bio interesting and i really dislike math and find it hard. I also want to get a job with decent pay.

Any ideas what I should look into? I have 3 more semesters of free college at my community college and i want to use it to figure out something i would want to do as a job.

if you can suffer through some more chem classes healthcare is an excellent option career-wise, probably as good as any other industry.

Personally, I'm going into renewable energies in science and technology. With the whole "green revolution" happening there are plenty of job opportunities and many more to come in the future. Since fossils fuels are bound to run out sooner or later, hopefully sooner in my situation, there will be more demand for biofuels. Unless of course out government decides to stay on the same path and continues to subsidize 'dirty' energy...my 2 cents

stick it out.

you're dealing with bs lower level undergrad courses - very general and less suited to specific interests.

if you hang on, you'll be able to customize your timetable to exactly what interests you.

these are called weeder classes to weed out the people that can't cut it. every major that is worth a shit is going to require a couple of courses that you'll be required to take, will absolutely hate, and will probably never use again in your career. if bio is your passion, stick it out dude. i guarantee you that there are probably 15 other kids in your class feeling the same thing.
